Great location, Great service, kid and pet friendly.
A bit sad to cancel my booking with Surfjack. I made the reservation a few months ago after doing quite a lot of research and finally deciding on the 2‑bed bungalow. I wasn’t aware that the 2‑bed configuration wasn’t guaranteed until I recently noticed a message from the hotel saying it was “subject to availability.” I reached out to confirm the 2‑bed setup, as we’re travelling with seniors who cannot share a bed, and we also have a 10‑year‑old who can’t sleep in one bed with us. Unfortunately, I haven’t received any reply for three days. The uncertainty worried me so much, especially with our trip only a week away. I ended up having to search for alternatives every day and ultimately decided to cancel the booking.
It seems like a place not well-known among Koreans, but it’s legendary... I booked it for 240,000 won per night. They cleaned it every day, and the room was quite spacious. There was plenty of room even with two suitcases spread out, and there was even a dining table on the balcony. The water pressure was good, and it was convenient to have a handheld shower head in addition to the rain shower. Most of all, the bathroom was spacious, which was great. I even did my makeup in the bathroom, haha. The location is also great, as it is less than a 10-minute walk to Waikiki. It is very close to the city center. You can park for free on the nearby Ayla Wai Boulevard (?). We managed to snag a spot and successfully parked for free for the entire week. Officially, the hotel recommends a nearby paid parking lot that costs $40. There's a swimming pool in the lobby with a great atmosphere. There are live music performances at the bar on the first floor every evening, featuring singers who sing really well. They also offer Zumba swimming lessons in the pool... The air conditioning works so well it feels like it's freezing everything solid. And in the lobby, ice water and coffee are all unlimited refills. It's the best, the best. Whenever I come to Hawaii, I'm coming here every single time.
I had an amazing stay at Surfjack during my trip to Hawaii and truly enjoyed every moment of it. First of all, I absolutely loved the beautiful pool area. It was the perfect place to relax—grab a drink from the bar, lounge on the couches, and enjoy a peaceful afternoon. What really made the experience special, though, was the outstanding service. The concierge team always greeted us warmly each morning, and the housekeeping staff were consistently kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. I was especially impressed by their honesty and dedication. After I returned home, I realized I had left behind my sunglasses and several other small personal items. The staff found everything and kindly mailed it back to me. I am incredibly grateful for their help and thoughtfulness. Thank you to the entire Surfjack team for making our Hawaii vacation so memorable. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful experience in Waikiki.
I had a fantastic stay at the Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club. From arrival to departure, the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with recommendations and anything I needed throughout my stay. The hotel strikes the perfect balance between social and relaxed. The pool and bar area is beautifully designed, creating a comfortable atmosphere where guests can unwind and connect without ever feeling crowded. The onsite restaurant and bar offers great food, drinks, and live music, making it an ideal spot to spend the evening or start a night out in Waikiki. My One Room Bungalow (Room 946) was spacious, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, capturing the spirit of Hawaii without feeling cliché. The balcony overlooked the pool with partial ocean views, while the comfortable beds, effective air conditioning, and adjustable lighting made it a great place to relax. Small touches like the complimentary Surfjack beach bag added real value and came in handy throughout my trip. The bathroom was well-appointed with a walk-in pebble-floor shower, quality tropical-scented amenities, and a heated bidet toilet. Shower pressure varied slightly at times, but it was a minor issue that didn't detract from the experience. The location is outstandin; just a short walk from the beach, restaurants, and nightlife, while remaining far enough from the busiest tourist areas to feel peaceful. Surfjack offers incredible value, plenty of character, and genuine hospitality. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on future visits to Waikiki.
This is a fun hotel, that's a little quirky. The staff are super friendly. It's about 10 minutes walk to the beach. The rooms are clean and we were upgraded to a suite. The restaurant is quite nice if you want to have dinner. It's dog friendly, so you will meet plenty of furry friends. There's a cafe in the lobby if you want cappuccino or chai.
