First off, I come to this hotel every year. I couldn’t make it during Covid, which totally broke my heart. I have been coming to Queen Kapiolani for about 9 years, before the renovation, during, and after the renovation. This is the only hotel that I stay at in Honolulu. I bring family from overseas, I ask my job to not book me at their hotel choice, I come on anniversaries, I come for surfing trips. I keep coming back because of location, and service. I wanted to let the world know, that there’s very special staff at this hotel. If you ever have a late night flight and check in after hours, please be on the look out for a beautiful woman at the front desk who is the essence of the “Aloha Spirit,” Elisa. She will greet you with a warm smile that is genuine, she will make you feel like you have left your stressful world away and have finally come to Hawaii. Every night when returning to the hotel, she would see me from a distance and be so welcoming. She is the very definition of why I keep coming to Queen Kapiolani. ( Thank you Elisa, you made me and my spouses stay a magical one). David, is also another example of why I stay at this location amongst all the hotels in Honolulu. He will make sure your stay is comfortable, welcoming, and unforgettable. ( Thank you David). Now that I pointed out the two people you should definitely meet at Queen Kapiolani, I should also mention that the location of this hotel is amazing. If you have the ocean or garden view rooms, you will hear song birds at sunrise and sunset with views of Diamond Head and turquoise waters from your bed. You are less than a minute walk from the beach, which towels and chairs will be given to you in the lobby. You are located a few blocks from the strip, and if you want more local eats, it’s a nice walk past President Thomas Jefferson Elementary school. You are right by a night stroll along a canal if you want different scenery as well. If you have a chance, please make a reservation at this amazing hotel for its staff and its location. I have elite memberships at many hotel groups, but when in Honolulu you only need Queen Kapiolani. See you soon Queen Kapiolani. Just stayed again, and as always staff super friendly, great location, comfortable clean rooms, and that aloha spirit. Thank you for always making my stay in Hawaii every year amazing.

We booked our guest room block at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel and it was the perfect home base for our wedding week. The location is unbeatable, right by Waikiki and Kapiolani Park with those gorgeous Diamond Head views, and our out-of-town guests loved being able to walk to the beach and back. Julie & Itzia made the room-block process genuinely painless, which as a planner I do not take for granted. Communication was clear, our guests were well taken care of, and the rooftop pool and bar quietly became the unofficial gathering spot for our crew all week. The whole staff was warm and welcoming. If you're looking for a hotel block in Waikiki that's stylish, well-located, and easy to work with, the Queen Kapiolani Hotel is a fantastic choice.

Had an amazing time at our stay! The room was clean and nice with an amazing view of both Diamond Head and the ocean. The staff was also very friendly with a smiling Aloha whenever encountered. The beach chairs and towels provided for the beach were a definite plus since the beach was just a very short walk, and being at the end of Waikīkī was not as busy. The valet service was amazing and quick every time we needed our car.

Incredibly disappointing after spending some time selecting a well located hotel for a brief stay to find that they’d sold our room to someone else and we’d be staying in a room at their sister hotel on the second floor looking at an alley with dumpsters. The manager was very pleasant and apologetic but ultimately only compensated us a cheap meal which was floridly insufficient given the terrible room we ended up in and the additional hour we wasted moving between hotels. We were not messaged in advance to tell us that this had happened. Really unacceptable on a systemic level (I felt quite bad for the manager dealing with it). Edit to add - they increased our compensation to a full meal and I had to mention that their restaurant staff were delightful, and cocktails remarkably complex and balanced. Would recommend a stay as long as you’re comfortable with a certain level of insecurity that you’ll actually get the room you paid for. It’s a nicely located spot (within Waikiki at least) and has a pleasant general vibe.
