Comfortable beds, clean rooms and friendly service at the desk and cafe. The location is great for exploring Waikīkī, very walkable!

The Queen Kapiolani Hotel fits its niche so perfectly. A hotel with gorgeous views of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach, quiet location outside the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. You’re close enough to walk to the action while being able to rest and relax without the chaos of Waikiki’s night life. The 1 minute walk to Waikiki Beach, Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium adds to the speciality of this hotel. Working with Sales Director, Ms. Julie Ogata, made coordinating our group’s stay seamless and wonderful experience. Highly recommended!!

We just got back from our first time in Hawaii June 1-7 It was a surprise vacation to celebrate our 48th Anniversary, a gift from my Husband Travelers, be sure to specify your room type! We learned the hard way that an oceanview room isn't always what you get. My Husband booked 6 months in advance, specifically ask for Oceanview room, he called 3 separate times to confirm the reservation with a Oceanview room He was told that we would have a Oceanview room. We didn’t get the oceanfront room, we were very disappointed (I cried, because my Husband planned this and didn’t get what he paid for) He even talked to the manager, she didn’t make things right with us, she didn’t care, said it was fully booked. It was graduation week and they had two weddings. Despite our disappointment with the mountain view, it was a partial view of the ocean, we loved Hawaii and enjoyed the tours – Pearl Harbor, Jurassic Park Adventure ,the Zoo and the Luau were our highlights. (For $3,000, we expected an ocean view room.) One beautiful moment was seeing a double rainbow after the rain. 🌈🙌 We'll take these lessons learned to plan an trip next time. We definitely won’t trust Queen Kapiolani 😭

Our stay at Queen Kapi'olani Hotel was just okay, largely due to a frustrating valet situation. We arrived late due to our flight and were told valet was full, with instructions to check back in the morning. In the meantime, staff suggested a few nearby parking options — including the zoo parking lot — and offered to reimburse us. We went with the zoo lot, but it required renewal every 4 hours. We were supposed to receive an SMS link to renew remotely, but it never arrived, forcing us to set alarms and physically walk to the lot throughout the night to renew. Easily the worst parking experience we've had at any hotel. Reimbursement is appreciated, but the hotel should be managing these logistics so guests aren't losing sleep over parking. Our initial room was also disappointing — a second-floor "city view" room that faced nothing but the exterior of a hostel across the street. It's hard to understand how that qualifies as a city view. We did manage to switch to a higher floor the next day, though it came with the hassle of repacking. Hopefully the hotel addresses these issues — the bones are there for a great stay, but the execution needs work.

Stunning location, complimentary bottles, free cool water and ice, a great restaurant on site, pools, a coffee and Açai spot, Queen Kapi'olani was a top spot to stay in Hawai'i! However, despite the amenities and the view, the room we paid for didn't feel big compared to where we got to stay on Maui and Big Island. Location really was perfect though!

First time at Queen Kapiloani and I will definitely return. Staff was very friendly and gave recs as needed. Concierge, bell desk and valet open 24/7. Less than 5 minute walk to Waikīkī beach and hotel has easy to grab complimentary beach chairs and towels. Room was clean with a wonderful view of diamond head. It’s more at the end of the “strip” of hotels which was nice. Coffee shop and restaurant were both excellent in service and food/drink plus lots of other food/drink places within walking distance. Only con would be yes the walls are thin but I find this to be true at every hotel I stay at.

Friendly and helpful staff, steps from the beach and zoo. Diamond head mountain and ocean views are spectacular. Will definitely return.

Great hotel. The staff is friendly, the hotel is located right next to the beach and has many stores and restaurants nearby and they give you complimentary bottles for you to refill in the lobby. My only complaint was the size of our room being so cramped. But we were barely in the room other than sleep so it wasn't a big issue.

Lovely spot for a staycation! Gorgeous views of Le'ahi (Diamond Head) -- watching a moonrise above it from our room was beautiful. Also appreciated being closer to the Kapi'olani park than the main hustle and bustle of Waikīkī.

We stayed 4 nights and it was really nice all things considered: the room was clean, staff was helpful, coffee/dole whip shop were great, location was great (a block away from the main strip of Waikiki so noise wasn’t bad and walk wasn’t far, plenty of eateries and abc stores for stuff we needed. Everything was great! HOWEVER, and on this one point I will offer a word of warning (kept the 5 stars because in the end the hotel honored our Costco package deal for free parking and reimbursed us & this was the only stressful part of our stay really) VALET PARKING IS MANDATORY AND ALMOST NEVER AVAILABLE UNLESS YOU TRY TO PARK YOUR CAR AT CHECKOUT TIME! We had to find/pay for street parking for the entire stay up until the very last day before we left and we only got into valet because we weren’t needing the car at checkout that day. Parking is extremely limited and very expensive ($57 a day) so plan your activities around your parking availability because also anywhere you wanna go in Waikiki basically has little to no parking so hotel parking is really important to have. Other than that we had a blast and this hotel helped make that possible so Mahalo Queen Kapi’olani, until we meet again 🤙🏻
