Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa
Many guests praise the exceptional staff, particularly at the front desk and in valet service, and appreciate the good room comfort and convenient location. However, several reviewers note that the hotel and its rooms feel dated and could be better maintained, with some also experiencing issues with room cleanliness and inconsistent customer service.

Unprofessional Front Desk Agent Ruined Our First Day (June 14th, 6:45 PM) I am writing this review with deep frustration as a loyal Hilton customer. Our family checked in at this property on Sunday, June 14th, at approximately 6:45 PM. What should have been an exciting start to our family vacation was completely ruined by the sheer incompetence, ignorance, and terrible attitude of the female front desk agent on duty. We booked a Costco Travel package that explicitly included daily complimentary breakfast, a $25 daily resort credit, and complimentary surfboard/beach chair rentals. However, the agent confidently insisted that our package included absolutely no breakfast or credits. When I disputed this, she made a phone call to her manager right in front of us and then claimed that the manager had "taken out" all of our benefits just two days prior. This made absolutely no sense since we paid a premium for this specific package. Because Costco Travel was already closed for the night, we were left completely stranded, stressed, and forced to fight for what we rightfully paid for. After further persistence and making her double-check, the truth came out: our perks were completely valid and active in the system. The issue was entirely due to the agent's inability to read her own system properly. What makes this a 1-star service experience is her complete lack of accountability. After realizing she was completely wrong and had almost scammed us out of our paid benefits in front of my children, she showed zero remorse. There was no "I'm sorry for the confusion," and not a single word of apology. To make matters worse, she completely neglected standard check-in procedures. She provided absolutely NO information about the resort amenities. We were given zero guidance on pool hours, fitness center location, beach towel rentals, or Wi-Fi access. She simply handed us the card keys and dismissed us. Leaving guests distressed and stranded due to an agent's lack of training and defensive attitude is unacceptable for a 4-star Hilton property. This was a deeply frustrating and unprofessional start to our family trip.
I only came here for a conference as I don't enjoy resorts. You don't get a real cultural experience and it's extraordinarily noisy with kids running around screaming. The rooms and amenities were nice but that's really all I can say about this place.
Thanks for keeping this historic great location clean and well maintained! Loved my stay hope be back ! Mahalo!
Best time ever can't wait until next year
I would give 5 stars except for two reasons. 1) Our 2 young girls wanted to try coffee at breakfast at the Rainbow Tower, since dad was with cane sugar. I prepared both of theirs and they had a sip or two each. Didn’t like it…. They charged $6 each for their coffee. 2) You will get eaten alive by flies at the big pool.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND – NOT WORTH THE PRICE!!! Our stay started off on a disappointing note when we found a large cockroach in our room on the first night before we had properly unpacked or opened any exterior doors. When we reported it, an employee came to “inspect” our room and informed us that is their protocol is to do their inspection and call pest control. While inspecting he also suggested this issue may have been related to our room being on the third floor where their trash area is located and stated they hadn't received any complaints "this week on this floor." Because the hotel was fully booked, the only option offered that night was another room on the same floor, which we were uncomfortable accepting given the explanation we had just received. We were moved to a higher floor the following day, but not before spending part of our vacation dealing with the issue, packing our belongings, and changing rooms. For the price we paid, the experience fell well short of expectations. Despite this I will say everyone we interacted with at the hotel were all kind during check in, valet, etc.
