Hudson Whaler

Zero complaints. The price was great, the room was cozy and the location was superb.

I stay at The Whaler almost every time I visit Hudson. The rooms are comfortable, well designed, and the staff are always friendly. Check-in is a breeze and I love that you can park so close to the hotel. On previous visits, I've used their gym which is perfect for keeping up with routines, even while away. Perfect location!

This is my second time so far and many more to come because Exactly What To Say HQ - moved from NYC to Hudson NY. The Hudson Whaler hotel is absolutely charming and is located on the Main Street of town with easy walking distance to most of the local sights, restaurants, shops and EWTS HQ. When I entered the hotel, I was greeted by a very friendly staff member Christin. The lobby is very beautiful and charming Old World furnishings and decorations. My room was very comfortable with the modern up to date amenities. The most important part of any hotel room - The bed was the most comfortable firm mattress, very soft linens and several blankets, there was a large flat screen TV, fireplace. The new fully equipped bathroom had excellent lighting and loved a large walk in shower. My stay at the Hudson Whaler was wonderful and the staff was most courteous and helpful in answering all our questions and requests for restaurants, places of interest, travel directions etc.

The hotel is located right in town, perfect walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Book with Kristine she is extremely helpful and friendly.

Very nice hotel centrally located on Hudson’s main street, with plenty great restaurants and cafes nearby. Christine at reception is really lovely, and very welcoming. Rooms are great - double queen: clean, nice-sized bathroom (with great shower). Only thing to make it cozier was availability of coffee/snacks in reception area.

I recently stayed here for 3 nights. Overall, the hotel itself is decent—the rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. However, the mattress in my room was extremely uncomfortable. It was so hard that I found myself waking up every 10 minutes, which made it very difficult to get any rest. For the price I paid, I expected a much better sleep experience. If the beds were improved, this would easily be a higher-rated stay. I had to leave one day early to go home to actually sleep.

Beware of the cancellation policy. Even if you cancel 5 minutes after booking, you will be changed 10% of your entire reservation, which is insane. They also won’t let you cancel via the phone, and will tell you to send an email instead even though you’re already talking to them. Finally, when you call about the insane cancellation fee that isn’t very clearly stated on their website or confirmation email, the woman on the phone will say “go cry to your mother”. She actually said that. What the hell is wrong with this place?
