Best meal we've had out in a very long time. First restaurant I've eaten at that makes proper fried chicken ( most hacks served refried chicken).mashed potatoes, fluffy well-seasoned perfection, oysters phenomenal, broccolini, fabulous, sea bass, glorious. Wish there were more.places like this. Thanks for doing things right.

Wonderful atmosphere, perfectly executed food & cocktails, and top tier service consistently delivered.

We made a reservation for Valentine’s Day and without telling us when we made the reservation, they literally seated us half a block away in a different overflow space. The space looked like a coffee shop area with no ambiance at all. The food, not surprisingly because it also had to be walked outside for half a block, arrived lukewarm. Food itself was only average. We had to ask three times for ketchup to go with fries and it only finally arrived when the meal was finished. Super disappointed with the whole experience.

We had dinner at Wm Farmer & Sons last night (Wednesday in February) and it far surpassed our expectations! The menu seems limited, but our server Abigail was great at explaining everything and our meal was excellent. My favorite item was the Appalachian onion soup (similar to French onion soup - but I think better?!), but we also loved the potato crock, chicories & chestnuts salad and the wild boar bourguignon (which was an amazing version of pot roast). Abigail was attentive, the cocktails were delicious, and this was the best meal we had in Hudson/Catskill area this week

This is my second time to farmer and sons, and I'd totally recommend to anyone visiting Hudson! This place is what I think of when I think of a Hudson Valley farm-to-table restaurant. Everything on their menu is a hit, from the drinks to the appetizers to the entrées and desserts. You could tell that this is high-quality food with local ingredients. I also really love how the menu rotates. The El Diablo drink is my favorite cocktail, its gingery and slightly spicy. My husband got the honeymoon karaoke which was excellent as well! Last year they had a chicken dish which blew my mind, and this year the best thing we had was the wild boar bourguignon which was spectacular. Keep in mind that for holidays, even with reservations in the bar room, it could still be a little hectic - but this had no effect on our experience. In the future, I’d also want to check out their rooms because they look pretty affordable for what Hudson has to offer, and a great location close to the train. Shout out to the staff!! Will definitely be back.

Classic, elegant, cozy & romantic restaurant. I went on a date with my wife & we loved it. Their Appalachian Onion Soup is mindblowing! Also tried their lasagne, original burger & bread butter skillet- all delicious. We were also treated with a birthday dessert on the house which made it truly special for us. The sticky toffee pudding was indulgent & lip smacking. Definitely make your way to Wm Farmers for a memorable evening.

Drove an hour for a show decided to stop here.. from the start the hostess was incredibly rude even though I did make a reservation.. food was sub par and for just two people service was terrible.. won’t be returning. I honestly thought for a place that looked lovely the restaurant would be as well. Very disappointed.

The service was excellent - our server was so kind and helpful! The onion soup was wonderful in comparison to a lot of onion soups that I have tried! The trout dip was also nice. The burger was disappointing. The photos looked so good, but it lacked flavor in reality. Not worth the +$10 for a little tiny bit of bone marrow. Needed salt, ketchup, mayo and a less bready bun. I will not remember this burger.

Excellent Food & Service.

Delicious food and great service. I would recommend. The only thing was that the automatic room spray(?) was very potent and hindered my dining experience bc I couldn’t smell my food. I think the delicious smell of food would make the customers hungrier and order more food!

This rating is for the restaurant on a standalone basis (hotel excluded). It was a pretty mediocre experience. This had come highly recommended by friends and we were severely disappointed. The starters were the only highlights (we had oysters and the smelt) while the main courses were tasteless. We ordered the fish dish which lacked flavor and didn’t have a whole lot of meat - just batter. Then the beef bourguignon dish literally had ZERO beef and it was the most expensive thing on the menu. When we asked for a recommendation, the waitress suggested it, and it felt like because it was the end of the night, they got lazy, tried to upsell us and just gave us what was left of the entire batch….. which had zero meat. This is probably a 4.2 rated spot but with the $43 meatless beef bourguignon, would give it a 3.6 and 2 star for service
