Wm. Farmer and Sons
Visitors frequently praise the excellent food, particularly the fried chicken and burgers, along with the craft cocktails and attentive service. However, some guests have encountered issues with room design, such as unusually high beds with low nightstands, and one reviewer was unhappy with being seated in an unappealing overflow space for Valentine's Day.

The service was excellent, the food was great and the drinks were very good! I had the oysters, pork belly popcorn and the bone marrow cheese burger with French fries. They have a decent selection of N/A drinks. I tried the ginger beer and the Faker Face, which was my favorite. Overall, a 5 star experience!!
Food and staff were amazing.
We had quite the mixed experience both staying and dining here. We stayed in the Abigail, and the room was cozy, quiet, the bed very comfortable, and the bathtub was wonderful. However, certain design choices were strange. The bed is very high but the nightstands are very low, so reaching for anything felt like I was on the edge of a cliff. In the kitchen area there's also a built in table but the barstools are similarly way too short. The electric fireplace also didn't work which was a bummer. I think the thing that bothered me the most however was that when we checked out and had our bags stored so we could walk around until our train, the woman working the front desk asked if we wanted coffees for our walk. Sounded great and we said yes, but after handing them to us she said, "so i'll just put these on the room tab then?" which caught us off guard because the implication in how she offered was that they were complimentary, and after spending over $800 for two nights was kind of shady to us. Our restaurant experience was worse, unfortunately. The food was good, we had the swordfish and the burger, but for $40 an entree the service was really not great. I lost count of how often our server forgot about us. Didn't get water for 20min, forgot to put in our order for a starter, forgot to bring us ketchup 3 times until the end of the meal when we had 5 fries left. She comped two glasses of wine which was nice, but unfortunately did not wash away the bad taste of the experience. This review is very honest and I don't mean for it to be brutal, but what we paid did not match what we got.
One word: awesome!
We did not stay here but had dinner , it was amazing . The pork chop was cooked just right with a side of apple butter ! The burger with marrow bone was a big hit at our table along with the fried chicken dinner . Excellent craft cocktails and superb service ! Thank you !
The restaurant was a highlight of our trip! The food was incredible and the service on point. We will certainly come again if we visit the town!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Mercer Suite. Nicely furnished and decorated. Warm and accommodating. The only nit is the smaller bed creaked A LOT which was more annoying than charming. Would still stay again.
