The Saddlery Madison

The location is very convenient and close to UW Madison. Most of all, Sam is incredibly kind and helpful. Whenever I text about something I need, he truly does his best to accommodate guests and provide exactly what they need. The place feels very safe, and it’s well equipped for longer stays—not only with a refrigerator, but also with kitchen essentials like a frying pan, toaster, and complete dishware. This makes it very comfortable for extended living. It is genuinely a very nice place to stay. I highly recommend Saddlery.

One of the best parts of my experience at Saddlery Madison was definitely Sam. He is incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely cares about the guests staying there. Whenever I had a question or needed help with anything, he responded very quickly and always tried his best to help in a positive and thoughtful way. You can really tell that he puts a lot of care into making sure guests feel comfortable and supported during their stay, which made a huge difference for me. I stayed at Saddlery Madison for around five months, and honestly, it was one of the best living experiences I have had. The location is amazing and very convenient, especially for students and people staying in Madison for a longer period of time. The view from the building is beautiful, and despite being in such a great location, the space is surprisingly quiet and peaceful, which made it a perfect environment to rest and focus. The room itself was always very clean and well maintained. One thing I especially appreciated was how fully equipped everything was. There was a washer and dryer available, and the kitchen had basically everything needed for daily life, so I never felt inconvenienced while living there. It truly felt like a comfortable home rather than just temporary housing. Another thing that impressed me was how thoughtful the shared supplies were. Guests could always access essentials like Kleenex, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, and many other items whenever needed. Small details like these made daily life so much easier and showed how much effort is put into taking care of guests. Overall, Saddlery Madison is a place that really has everything: an excellent location, beautiful views, quiet and comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and most importantly, outstanding hospitality from Sam. I am genuinely grateful for my time there, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay in Madison.

Great location, clean, pricey but worth it

There is literally no front desk or anyone working. It's 7/8 pm on a Saturday night and no where to go to get a room. Everything is code based and it looks like you have to get a room online.

Hotel rooms in Madison were scarce on this random Wednesday in April. The Saddlery was a perfect option. Two bedrooms, plus a pullout couch. Having a kitchen was amazing. We definitely use the oven. Suggestions… Maybe include a pizza plan pan or a cookie sheet and more k cups for the coffee pot! :)

While the property looks nice on the outside and from a glance - the stay itself was horrible. Key points: - NO PARKING. They messaged me the morning of our stay to inform us we either had to pay for a spot at their hotel (weird but ok) or park DOWN THE STREET or on street (signs on street only allowing parking until 2am so that was false as well). I messaged back within a very reasonable timeframe and was told the spots sold out. No one parked in the back lot overnight, btw. - UNCOMFORTABLE BEDS. While the lines and such were beautiful, the bed was stiff and hard. My partner and I woke up in back pain. 1/10 comfort. I’ve slept better in a motel. - LEAKING SHOWER. Every time we took a shower the floor would flood due to the way it was installed into the wall. Our floor was wet the entire stay. Yikes. - THIN WALLS. If you want to hear your neighbors having sex or arguing, this place is for you. I’m disgusted at the price point of almost $300 for one evening. I feel scammed. Only reason I’m rating a two is due to the cleanliness and beauty. Otherwise it was terrible. We will not be back.

So the showers leak because they aren’t sealed properly around the edges. Enjoy that. Additionally the parking you have to PAY for, there is no proper lot or guest parking. We had to walk several blocks to get from the overnight parking garage to our room; the walls are also paper thin in case you like other people’s conversations. We will not be back.

Great place, good location, nice room. Shower was a little small but manageable. Overall, highly recommend.

I hope this is available everytime I'm in Madison, I can't imagine staying elsewhere now. It's super clean, so convenient, and great amenities. First 10/10 stay review I've had in forever.
