The George

I was in town for a friend's milestone birthday celebration and The George was just about 2 miles up the road from the location so it was perfect for a cozy stay. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The naming convention for the rooms is very unique and matches with the decor of the rooms and I really liked that concept. The breakfast offered is good and there is a water bottle refill station. There is also a candy closet, and ice cream freezer and a wine station (available during a set time during the evenings). They really thought of it all. The ambiance in general is very charming. It is like you're staying at someone's house and that someone knows everyone. The staff was very professional and super nice. The area is quiet. The room was quiet too. I was sad I only had one night booked. I honestly need to go back for a proper longer weekend stay.

Stylish, intimate, and full of personality. The hotel has a very curated feel, and everything from the design to the atmosphere is carefully put together. It’s a great place for a more refined and quiet stay.

What an amazing place to stay! Tons of charm, cute rooms, unlimited ice cream and candy, chocolate chip cookies at check-in, complimentary wine service in the evening, and an awesome breakfast spread during generous breakfast hours. The library with a fireplace is a wonderful sitting room to chat and play board games. I highly recommend staying here! Not to mention, it’s a short walk to Bloomfield Ave where there are a ton of restaurants to choose from.

Disappointing Stay at The George - Falls Short of Boutique Standards We booked one of the family suites with expectations for a top-tier boutique experience, but The George fell significantly short. While our first impression was positive, serious issues quickly emerged that revealed a concerning lack of maintenance and professionalism. The bathwater ran yellow—completely unacceptable, especially when traveling with babies. The entertainment system’s internet connectivity didn’t work. When we brought these issues to the on-site staff, we were told she “didn’t have time” to help us as she was preparing for another event. She mentioned she’d reach out post check out to “see what she can do”, but did not, in fact, reach out. For a property positioning itself as a premium boutique hotel, this level of neglect is inexcusable. We chose The George specifically seeking excellence in hospitality. What we found was poor maintenance, non-functional amenities, and staff too occupied with other priorities to address basic guest needs. It was not hospitality first. There are boutique hotels that deliver on their promise of quality and attentive service. The George is not one of them.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The experience was great. The room, the food and service was the best. My only complaint is the charge on my room of $250 is still on hold for 4 days now when the guy at the front desk told me it would only be one day.

We stayed at The George for two nights as part of a wedding party and immediately were wrapped in love and support! The incredible staff felt like family! The atmosphere and accommodations were perfect. Breakfast was delicious and generous. The perfect accommodation for a wonderful weekend! We are so grateful!

The famous candy closet is a great perk

I love this hotel so much. I’ve been a repeat customer and each time I have such a great experience. The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. Everything is really clean. Love the style and vibe.

Great little Inn. The decor is both glamorous and traditional. The attention to detail was appreciated. We were in town to see Oasis at Met Life, and The George was the perfect place to stay. Across the street is a wonderful museum mansion and gardens, that makes for a nice morning walk. The breakfast, wine hours, and little touches like fresh baked cookies made the stay extra special. Close to downtown restaurants and shopping, we can’t wait to come back and spend a little more time in this area. Highly recommend!

A very special hotel. We’ve stayed twice and both times were incredible. So many great details down to the signature soap and shampoo I found to be amazing. The candy closet is a true sizzle feature. Rooms are comfy with great layouts.
