Smith College Resource Center for Sexuality and Gender

The Resource Center for Sexuality and Gender at Smith College supports LGBTQ+ students, programming and education on the campus of the women's college whose presence — since 1871 — is a central reason Northampton became one of the most visibly queer towns in America. Based in Wesley House on the Smith campus, the center offers community space, advising and events during the academic year and is one of several Five College LGBTQ+ resources (alongside UMass Amherst's Stonewall Center) that give the Pioneer Valley its youthful, activist queer energy. It primarily serves students but reflects the institutional roots of Northampton's LGBTQ+ life.
