Thai curry mussels and ratatouille were insanely good. Recommend eating the leftover curry with the bread rolls (becomes elevated pao bhaji iykyk). 10/10 vibes

Manny made our time at Cecil quite enjoyable, checking on us with a great, calm cadence and boxing everything for us perfectly with apt labeling. Nice ambiance and thoughtful art curation, tailored to a primary color world of Matisse, Calder, Kandinsky et al, augmented the quality of the experience. To start, the drinks were lackluster, smooth (watery) yet forgettable (a rose lemonade mocktail with more rose than lemon and a filthy martini with not much gin flavor or olive pungency). Conversely, the bread rolls with date and sage butter were excellent. The deviled eggs were a nice change from the average, mayo-laden — simple, whipped yolks topped lightly with a few mustard seeds. The cacio e pepe, while boasting a beautifully al dente bucatini, was unfortunately, overwhelmingly pepe’d with little cacio to complement. The steak-frites as is were delicious, yet their accoutrements of bearnaise and aioli were, respectively, overly citric and merely a glorified ranch. The broccolini, though nicely flavored, could use the Usher treatment (let it Burn). While arguably the chicest cuisine-clos in PS, they may need Keller the godfather to nurture once again.

The restaurant ambience was amazing. Loved the design and look. The food on the other hand was awful. Waiter suggested his favourite drink was the cactus slim so we got it. It tasted like drinking straight almond milk with no liquor. Tried another on God of the Garden and same thing, nothing spectacular about the taste and still no liquor taste. Typically after two drinks, I can feel it, not here. Now let’s talk about the food. The onion tart was good. Tasted like French onion soup in a tart. I had the cacio e Pepe (cheese and pepper pasta). The portion size was small but good for me. Typically this dish has a lovely taste of cheese with a hint of pepper. I’m pretty sure there was no cheese in the sauce and they spilled the peppermill in the sauce. It was so overwhelming with pepper that it was disgusting. Couldn’t stomach it.
