Attention to service and excellence has diminished. Service was slow and inattentive. We will not be back. Food quality was fair.

Had a wonderful time taking a friend to his 75th birthday celebration staff was wonderful

This is our go to when we have company or just when we happen to meander over from Rancho Mirage which is where we live. Consistently good meals and great drinks. The outdoor patio is gorgeous underneath the trees.

We (me and three friends) made a reservation for my birthday. Our server came to the table and one of us asked about GF options, because she has celiac disease, so she literally cannot have gluten, and mentioned on the website it said a bunch of stuff was GF but on the actual menu it didn’t say GF so she wanted to make sure it was GF. Our server said she could figure it out. Odd. Then he took our order and never came back. We watched our server literally go up to every table around us but he refused to even acknowledge us. I had to walk up to the front to the hostess to ask for our check. We will absolutely not be coming back. This restaurant also came recommended by others but the service from our server was horrendous. Everyone else we interacted with was wonderful. We were not being difficult at all, our friend just needed to clarify what she would be able to order. That’s not a big ask.

Came to dinner tonight. Asked the server Richard what menu was current as the Internet menu indicated different options as gluten free than the paper menu they handed us. He told us sometimes there were updates. I asked him again if he knew which was one current and they were conflicting and he told me “you can probably figure it out yourself.” Another member of my party tried to explain I’m not gluten free by choice but he ignored her. I was diagnosed with celiac disease 6 months ago so actually I can’t “figure it out myself” (I just found out yesterday wasabi actually has gluten in it from the server down the street who took the took to ask the chef) it would have been a much more enjoyable experience if Richard had cared to ask instead of just tell me I could have probably figured it out myself.

Always the best in Palm Springs

I went to Spencer's today for lunch with my friends. I was concerned because we had heard rumors that the service and food quality was slipping since the owner passed away. I am happy to say that the service was impeccable and the food delicious. I would not hesitate to go back. Kirt and I went to Spencer's for lunch today. We haven't been here in over a year. Not sure why .. it just fell off our radar. They have greatly expanded their outdoor space. They now have tables along the sidewalks in the rear of the restaurant. While it is still nice to be outside. We prefer the original 'courtyard' space. They still have their 'business man 3 course prix fixed lunch's although now it is $31. I opted for the shrimp and chicken putenesca. It was delicious.Kirt started with the onion soup. He shared a bit with me. It was amazing. So much depth of flavor! Be prepared to let it cool. It is served au gratin and is very hot! Kirt also had the tuna salad sandwich. It had a plentiful amount of tuna. All in all everything was perfect. Our server was attentive without being overly so. I strongly recommend making a reservation. Parking can be difficult but fortunately they offer valet parking for $3. A great bargain. Check this place out! The setting is beautiful; right up against the mountains. You won't be disappointed! First time back since covid...went for breakfast. I had the scotch eggs Benedict which is eggs Benedict with lox. Excellent! Prices are higher but service, food, and outside seating were all perfection. It's soft shell crab season so we went here to enjoy their preparation based on an email I had gotten. We sat outdoors in their new tented area...it was very pleasant. I was a bit disappointed in that I had misunderstood the email I received. I thought the entrée version included three SS crabs each served with a different preparation. When we got there I found out that it included 3 SS crabs, but you could only choose one preparation for all three. In any event, they were delicious. We started with the crispy, spicy calamari appetizer... it was huge. That appetizer and a salad could be a meal. We both loved it! My husband got the meatloaf. He said it was excellent.

We went to Spencer’s on recommendation from several friends. Worth noting it was a very warm early evening so we dined inside. The food, while pricey, is deliciously prepared and the portions are perfect, not too little and not too much. They have a nice prix fixe menu at very reasonable cost per person. We splurged on ordering from main menu. The steamed lobster wontons were tasty but surprisingly spicy for my wife. The Wedge salad was terrific and my wife appreciated the ranch dressing option. My Caesar with extra anchovies was likewise great. I had wild mushroom risotto with grilled shrimp, both cooked perfectly. My wife knows her salmon and how it should be cooked and again, perfection. Dessert was the Molten chocolate cake with ice cream - small dessert with big taste - perfect size after the great meal. Martini’s are served in a large martini glass to the top and the wine, a nice rose was a healthy pour. The only disappointment when eating inside was there are two inside dining rooms, one is darker and elegant, the other overlooks tennis courts. I should have asked to move so that’s on me but unless you love tennis, I suggest requesting the main inside dining room.
