Val's Lesbian Bar

Val's opened in March 2026 at 605 South 3rd Street in Queen Village, giving Philadelphia its first dedicated lesbian bar since Toasted Walnut closed in 2021. It's a cocktail-and-community spot built for queer women, trans and nonbinary folks, and friends — approachable drinks, a small kitchen, and a calendar that leans into DJ nights, trivia, and pop-ups rather than a big club floor. Its arrival was widely covered as a milestone for a lesbian scene that had gone years without a permanent home. Queen Village puts it a short walk from South Street's bars and an easy trip from the Gayborhood, and the room fills fastest on weekend evenings and event nights.
