Great 4 night stay at the Alexander Inn when attending a conference at the Pennsylvania Convention Centre. Hotel is full of character and has everything you need. Air con worked effectively (it was 36C/97F while we were there). Breakfast was a bit limited but perfectly acceptable - the only thing I missed was fresh fruit. The evening socials are a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.

A pleasant hotel in the city center. Breakfast is simple, but it's good for a light meal. In the evening, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, you can get a complimentary glass of wine and a light snack and relax. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.

An overpriced, minimally adequate facility in a good (but loud) location. Our room was really small (fine, it's Center City Philly), and was kinda dirty / needed a deep clean. There's no temperature control in the rooms. The street noise kept us up at night until about 2am both nights, which I guess is what you get in an old building in this part of town. Not worth the $300+ we paid per night.

A truly special stay at The Alexander Inn.located in the quaint, Gayborhood, in Philadelphia. The staff, were incredibly helpful and attentive, making every moment feel easy and welcoming. The hotel itself is absolutely fabulous—stepping inside feels like being transported back to the 1920s. I fell in love with its beautifully curated Art Deco suites, thoughtful furnishings, and well-appointed artwork. Our double suite featured two stunning prints inspired by Wassily Kandinsky, one of the pioneers of abstract art, and they complemented the room perfectly. What really set the experience apart were the thoughtful extras: a complimentary breakfast and a daily happy hour with lovely charcuterie, delicious soup, dessert and a great selection of red or white wine. It created such a warm, communal atmosphere at the end of each day. It’s bittersweet to hear that the inn is being transformed under a Marriott Design Hotel brand. While it’s exciting for its future, I’ll truly miss the charm and individuality that make The Alexander Inn so special. A memorable stay that I’d highly recommend experiencing while you still can.
