Hôtel Inn At Union Square - A Greystone

It is a small hotel with well-sized, pleasant rooms. It is a bargain.

We stayed as a family including our 3 year old daughter for few days in the month of April 2026. Our stay was ordinary. There is fixed extra charge for house keeping and 'cold breakfast' (few days old muffins, bread, bagels-not sure how old are they). We all got sick including our 3 year old, infact on our way home she vomited in the flight. Not sure about the quality of water/sanitation as these food borne infections spreads by contact. I am not going to stay here again.

It's a small, older hotel that's clean, safe, and quiet. You might see a few signs of wear, but the location is great with easy access to popular landmarks and tours.

I had a mini heart attack looking at the lobby, elevator and lobby but boy the room is impressive huge and the breakfast is amazing! Highly recommended and sit nicely at union square but yet quiet enough. Staff kindly allowed us for an hour earlier check in as room is available. Hoping to catch the direct train to airport tomorrow from union square!

This was my first time staying at The Inn, and it was a complete nightmare. After checkout, I was shocked to see a $50 charge on my card for a "missing umbrella". Something that was never in the room, that I did not take, and that was completely unnecessary on a sunny day. I spoke with multiple staff members, but each gave me the runaround. I asked to speak with a manager, but management was completely unreachable. The hotel's handling of this charge was completely unacceptable. They have no system for resolving disputes, and guests are left running in circles for something that isn't even their fault. Be very cautious if you stay here. Unexpected charges can appear on your bill with no way to resolve it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stay far away from here. They will scam you. We stayed here for one night and received a $50 fee for a “missing umbrella” when there wasn’t an umbrella to begin with. It was a sunny day with no rain in sight to even use an umbrella. We have had multiple conversations and they keep giving us the run around. Management will not speak with you so be prepared to accept any charges they bring upon you.

Three things really stood out during my stay at this inn. First, the service. The staff are exceptional. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They were also very accommodating when I requested an early check-in ahead of the 4:00 PM time, which was greatly appreciated. Second, the location. It is excellent. Just a short walk from Union Square, very close to the cable cars that run all the way to Fisherman’s Wharf, and within easy reach of great restaurants, cafés, bars, and shopping. Third, the rooms. They are spotless, feel fresh, and are thoughtfully laid out. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the ceiling fans do a great job of keeping the room cool. The continental breakfast is very good, with a nice variety to suit different tastes, and the coffee is excellent quality. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located city stay.

The Inn at Union Square would benefit from having Valet parking. Extremely inconvenient if you need immediate parking. Would not recommend

We stayed here for seven days. The rooms were spacious, clean, and bright, making for a very good stay. The hotel manager recommended a tour of the Moorwoods Forest, which was a spectacular experience with the giant trees.

The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The location is super convenient — right near Union Square and easy to grab a cable car if you don’t feel like walking up the hills. The rooms were nice, clean, and well maintained. Would definitely stay here again.
