I visited for the 1st time La Mar Restaurant yesterday June 18 while in San Francisco, My first impression as entering the restaurant was possitive they have Salsa Music on the backgrounds, it took a few minutes for the hostes to bring me to my assigned table, I was accomodated in a wooden table that did not have table cloth, It was small for 4 people, it looks like they would have accommodated as a family of 4 on a more spacious table, I observe 2 ladies accommodated in a bigger 2 joined tables, this make me think that this place is more for business neetings that rather for familys with young individuals, the table was to small and not appropiate for the size of the dishes served, I believe the owners can improve the space of the tables and divide the restaurant in sections for familys and ceparate from the business customers. The Menú presented was small in relation to the vast cuantity of Peruvian tradicional cousine dishes, there was no criollo dishes, If the restaurant specializes in Peruvian Seafood there was a lot of missing tradicional dishes like the CHOROS A LA CHALACA, CEBICHE DE CONCHAS OR SCALLOPS, CHUPE DE CAMARONES O PESCADO, THERE WAS A MISSING CRIOLLO FOOD LIKE SECO DE CORDERO, LOCRO, AJI DE GALLINA, PARIHUELA AND PESCADO SUDADO OR STEAM FISH SOUP, IN RELATION to Juices there was no Orange Juice, Maracuya Juice, they Only have on the Menú the CHICHA MORADA which did have the tradicional FLAVOR but the purple color was not purple dark but light purple but the flavor tasted auténtic. In Relation to Desserts, the restaurant can do better by serving puré Lucuma Ice cream, the only one they have is a Cacao with Lucuma but the Cacao was predominant and very little Lucuma, there was no Mazamorra Morada, no arroz con leche which are tradicional in Peruvuan Cousine. The Grilled Salmón dish was to small for the price of around $40, the Chaufa of Quinua Seafoid was excelent flavor for $29 price, the $139 dish came with small portions of Cebiche, Causa, Tiradito, Octopus in sauce, Shimp Coctail, the 6 small dishes where to small for the price of $139, The Table Services from Mr. Alejandro was the best that the restaurant offered the service of Alejandro surpassed the food presentación and quality and space of the small table for a family of 4, I rated 3 stars over all for the reasons explained above, the bill included a 6% of a San Francisco Tax which added to $18, plus the 9.25% California sales Tax the total bill including all taxes and fees came to $354 approximatelly. The Restaurant requires improvements in their Menú and tables size and presentación, the hostes can do a better Job when comes to accommodate familys of 4 members, the tables can have table cloth and have a better presentation with Peruvian Andean Cultural designs that would represent Peruvian Cultures.

excellent if very expensive (150 per person. two mocktails each. no alcohol) food, as tasty as it is pretty. this place is always very busy but at my recent visit it was not so busy so the food came very quickly so, unintentionally the meal felt rushed. we were out of there in an hour and 15 minutes.
