I was disappointed when I got there and we couldn’t see the home from the road and the tour was closed

The grounds and structures on the property here are just gorgeous. So glad we spent several hours touring. So much history, and the incredible feeling that you are walking where our incredible General and First President walked. In the house, you will hold the same banister George and Martha used to climb the stairs to the second floor. So many amazing artifacts to see.

Loved it so much!! If you are able purchase the In Depth Tour do it!!! And pray you get Stefan as your tour guide. He is great! We did a regular tour today but the indepth tour yesterday was just so much more personal! I also Highly recommend purchasing the Guide found at the checkout counter in the gift shop. It will save you time on the tour and you can enjoy instead of taking pictures. This book is a must!! Enjoy walking where our First President walked.

Great place to learn about our nation's first president

This place was awesome. I would definitely recommend getting the in-depth private tour it is well worth it. You learn a lot and get to see a lot more. What if you from the back and the front of the mansion. Very cool history here. Give a shout out to Peter our tour guide did an awesome job and new and whole bunch about the place

Our family had a super fun time at Mount Vernon, and it ended up being the perfect history trip for both adults and kids! The historical preservation is absolutely amazing, but what impressed us most was how engaging it was for our 5yo son, who loved exploring the expansive grounds, seeing the farm animals, and experiencing the interactive museum exhibits. It blends world class history with genuine family fun, offering plenty of outdoor space for kids to move around while parents soak in the incredible stories of the estate. It is an absolute must-visit for families looking for an entertaining and educational day trip!

Had a great time with family. Weather was perfect. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is in regards to the tour we were on. The groups are smaller, 10 to 15 maybe? You move from room to room and a different tour guide gives a quick synopsis. We were in the back of the group and by the time we were able to shuffle our way into the next room to join the group, the guide had already started talking so we missed out on things. I know they are working on a schedule and lots of groups coming through, but just waiting an extra minute for everyone to get in would solve the issue.

Go and do all the guided tours. Worth every penny and minute

Mount Vernon is very fun for if you want to explore at any time and weather. When we went in the rain, it was still very fun. I would definitely recommend boat tours.
