Great program.

Volo is a great way to stay active and meet a ton of new people in a new city. The staff is welcoming and everything is fun-first. Super thankful for these people over the last few years as this has been a highlight of my post-grad life.

Currently playing volleyball, and for the amount we're paying ($90+) the venue is pretty terrible (Shiloh Baptist Church). It's small, cramped, has weird lighting, and the AC doesn't work. You'd think for $90+ from each player they could get the AC working. Also, it's terrible for volleyball as there's a low ceiling on both sides of the court, meaning that when you go to serve, the ball either hits the ceiling or you have to illegally step onto the court to avoid the ball hitting the ceiling. Would have been nice to have a nicer gym or even to play outside. Ours plus some of the other teams are pretty unimpressed. Could easily start your own league with similar or better conditions.

We felt unsafe playing. The players do not have the proper soccer gear including shin guards or cleats. Also the ref was not calling any slide tackles or pushing. Injuries are highly likely when people don't have the correct gear on and the ref isn't paying attention. We played for a total of 7 min and were asked by our team to sub. This is not the friendly environment we anticipated. There were other players who played the whole game and others who were forced to sit out. Players were extremely aggressive on the field and were kicking the ball with great force. It was not the rec and low-key environment advertised on the website. Instructions about parking and how to get to the field were vague. They refused to give a refund and only offered a credit. Never again!

I’m giving one star to Volo Soccer in Virginia. What should be a fun, enjoyable, and positive experience has turned into a frustrating one every Sunday night. The league is poorly coordinated, often short on staff, unpunctual, and very unorganized. The referee is by far the worst part. There is one referee in particular who simply stands in the middle of the field blowing the whistle without paying attention to what’s actually happening. Player safety is completely ignored. I’ve seen players get kicked in the face, suffer nosebleeds, and other injuries, and the referee never stopped the game, called for assistance, or ensured basic medical support. They don’t even have an emergency kit available on site, which is unacceptable for a paid league. On top of that, the referee is unprofessional and rude. I have sent multiple emails to VoloDC about these issues, and nothing has been done. For how expensive this league is, the level of organization and professionalism is extremely disappointing. Other leagues charge less and provide better referees, safer environments, and more enjoyable experiences.

Simply awful. Volo holds a pickup soccer game Monday - Thursday and they would give us pinnies that were not washed from previous games so they reeked of B.O., obviously we all refused to wear them. They are not organized. They don't start league games on time. Volo buys up all the permits to the fields so there's not any time slots to hold free pickup games anymore.

Overpriced, as a pass member i don't get to play free pickups for volleyball misleading advertising.

3 of our 6 pickleball matches were cancelled and one we had to stop early. This resulted in us constantly having to change our schedule and miss one of the rescheduled games. Volo refused to offer any credit or refund as consolation. Very disappointed and will not be playing Volo again.
