Gay Shops in Hamburg
Hamburg's queer shopping is small but genuine, and it sits mostly in two areas: the St. Georg gay village around Lange Reihe, and the adult-oriented streets of St. Pauli near the Reeperbahn. It is worth knowing that the Bruno's chain, which long ran a store here, closed all of its shops in 2025, so the city's remaining dedicated gay retail is now focused on fetish wear and adult venues.

St. Georg, especially Lange Reihe and the streets around it, is Hamburg's main gay village — the natural place to combine a stroll, a coffee and any shopping with the neighbourhood's bars and cafés. St. Pauli, around the Reeperbahn, is the city's adult-entertainment quarter and home to the more specialised gay and fetish shops.

Mr. Chaps is Hamburg's established name for fetish wear, a long-running rubber and leather specialist in the St. Georg area. It carries a broad range of harnesses, made-to-measure rubber and leather pieces and accessories, and the staff are knowledgeable and discreet. For anyone into the leather and rubber scene it is the city's go-to shop.
Mystery Hall — Gay Shop & 24/7 Cruising
Mystery Hall, just off the Reeperbahn in St. Pauli, combines a gay shop with a round-the-clock cruising venue. Alongside its retail corner it has an adult cinema, private cabins and darkroom areas, and it is open 24 hours. Many visitors come for the cruising as much as the shopping; entry usually includes access to the facilities. It is strictly for adults (18+).
Practical Tips
Getting there: For St. Georg take the U- or S-Bahn to Hauptbahnhof and walk up to Lange Reihe; St. Pauli and the Reeperbahn are served by the S1/S2/S3 (Reeperbahn) and U3 (St. Pauli) stations. Most of these areas are walkable.
Ages & etiquette: The fetish and adult venues are strictly 18+ — bring ID if asked. At Mystery Hall expect an adult, sexually charged environment, especially at night; practise safe sex and be respectful of others.
