At ten at night La Nogalera is still eating: plates of pescaíto frito on the terraces, a drag queen testing her microphone, the smell of sun cream giving way to cologne. By midnight the terraces have filled, and by one the doors in the passages and side streets around the square start to matter: a small leather bar on Calle la Nogalera, a basement darkroom, a big purpose-built club behind a nightclub on Calle Skal. Torremolinos, 20 minutes down the line from Málaga, has the densest cruising scene on the Costa del Sol: half a dozen cruise bars within a short walk of each other, one large gay sauna, and a beach strip at Los Álamos that cruising directories list. Hours shift with the season, so check before you go.
Legal in one line: Spain has had same-sex marriage since 2005, and cruise bars and saunas are legal, licensed venues. Public sex is only a crime if minors or people with disabilities are present (Criminal Code art. 185), but "obscene exhibition" is a minor offence under the public security law, Ley Orgánica 4/2015 (art. 37.5), with a fine of €100–600 (art. 39.1).
La Nogalera and Calle Casablanca: the cruise bars
Torremolinos's gay bars, clubs and cruise bars sit in and around La Nogalera, the square and maze of passages in the town centre, with Calle Casablanca, Calle Skal, Calle Danza Invisible and Plaza de Andalucía all a few minutes apart. Most of the cruise bars open between 20:00 and 22:30 and get busy after midnight, especially at weekends. Bring photo ID: they're all 18+ and men only.
Cuero
Cuero (Calle la Nogalera 21) is a small leather and fetish cruise bar with a bar, lockers, cabins and a darkroom. It runs dress-code nights: guides list leather, military, speedo, jockstrap and naked. Its website lists it as open daily from 20:00 to 01:00, from 18:00 on Sundays, with €5 entry including a drink; some guides say it closes on Wednesdays, so check. Its early hours make it a natural first stop before the other bars open.

Exxxtreme Cruising Club
Exxxtreme is the large, purpose-built option, a block from La Nogalera behind the Centuryon nightclub (listed at Calle Skal 2; some guides give a Calle Casablanca address for the same entrance). It has darkrooms, cabins, a maze, a sling, showers, glory holes and a porn cinema. A 2025 listing gives entry at €30 with a drink ticket and the dress code as naked or underwear only. Listed hours are from 22:30 until 05:00 in the week and until 07:00 at weekends. It's busiest after midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Men's Bar
Men's Bar, in the Nogalera passages, is a long-running cruise bar: a bar upstairs and a basement play area with a darkroom and a video room. Guides describe a crowd of bears, older men and leather fans. A 2024 listing gives hours from 22:00 to 03:00, until 04:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.

Alcatraz Men's Club
Alcatraz (Pasaje de Pizarro, off Plaza de Andalucía) is a men-only leather, fetish and cruising club with a large bar, private cabins, play areas and darkrooms, and theme nights from underwear to full gear. A 2026 listing gives it as open Wednesday to Sunday: from 21:30 until 03:00–05:00 depending on the night, and from 16:00 to midnight on Sundays. Hours vary.
XXL Torremolinos
XXL is a fetish bar and cruise club near Plaza de Andalucía, about 100 m from La Nogalera, with a darkroom and cruise areas and regular themed nights. It was listed in 2024 as open daily from 22:00 to 05:00. We found little recent information, so check before you go.

Bunker (AQUA, Calle Casablanca)
Bunker is the late-night dance and fetish space in the basement of the AQUA complex on Calle Casablanca, at the entrance to La Nogalera. Guides describe Aqua as a club with a dance floor and a separate cruising area, and it hosts kink and bear parties. The main night is Saturday from about 01:00 to 07:00, with some Friday events. Information online is thin and reviews are mixed, so ask at the AQUA bar what's on that week.
Bars and clubs with a darkroom
Several of the regular bars and clubs have a darkroom or cruising corner: Parthenon, a club with a terrace in La Nogalera; Free Eagle, a dark, cruisy bear bar with theme parties; and Guys & Dolls, a music and karaoke bar with a cruising area. See the Torremolinos bars guide for the full list.

The sauna: Apolo
Apolo Sauna Cabaret (Avenida Carlota Alessandri 105, Edificio Olé II, in Montemar, about 2 km from La Nogalera) is the one gay sauna we could verify in Torremolinos in 2026. Open since 2016, it covers about 1,500 m², with a Finnish sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, private cabins, a maze, glory-hole booths, a bondage area and a stage for drag and go-go shows. Travel Gay lists it as open daily from 15:00 to 22:00 (January 2026), and 2025 sources give entry at around €16 with towel and locker. It's an afternoon-to-early-evening place, so go before the bars. More in our Torremolinos saunas guide.
There's no gay sauna in Málaga city itself. Its one indoor option, the cabins at the Pikante sex shop by the port, is covered in our Málaga cruising guide.
Closed or unclear: Querell (Avenida Carlota Alessandri 146) was reported in 2023 to no longer exist as such; it was relaunched as Attack, which was listed in 2024 but has left little trace since. The Room Cruising Club on Calle la Nogalera is shown as permanently closed. We found no current address or hours for Terma Sauna Miguel, so treat it as closed.
The beaches and the Los Álamos dunes
Bajondillo, the beach below the town centre, is where gay Torremolinos spends the day, especially at its eastern end, with gay-popular beach clubs such as El Gato and the adults-only Eden Beach Club. It runs on into Playamar. It's a family beach as much as a gay one: sunbathing, sunbeds and drinks.
Cruising directories list the dunes at the northern end of Playa de Los Álamos, where Torremolinos meets Málaga's Guadalmar beach, as a daytime cruising area. Los Álamos itself is a 1.5 km Blue Flag beach with lifeguards, beach bars and a kitesurfing crowd, and it has a C1 station of the same name. Guadalmar, on the Málaga side, has a long-standing naturist section. Nearby Benalnatura in Benalmádena is a small naturist cove with showers and a chiringuito, for sunbathing only.
Before you go into the dunes: sex in a public place isn't a crime in Spain unless minors or people with disabilities are present, but obscene exhibition can be fined €100–600 under Ley Orgánica 4/2015, and Málaga's local police have fined indecent exposure in recent summers. These beaches are used by families, walkers and kitesurfers all day. The protected Guadalhorce estuary nature reserve lies just east of Guadalmar: its fenced bird areas are off limits. Unlit dunes are also where phones and wallets go missing, so carry little and leave nothing on the sand. Get dressed before you walk back to the road. The cruise bars and the sauna are legal, cheap and safer.

Practical tips
- Entry and ID: expect an entry fee with a drink at the cruise bars (about €5 at Cuero, €30 at Exxxtreme in 2025) and around €16 at Apolo. Bring photo ID everywhere.
- Dress codes: check the night before you go. Underwear, jockstrap and naked nights are common, and Exxxtreme is naked or underwear only. Bags and clothes go in a locker.
- Phones and valuables: lock them up. Never take a phone or wallet into a darkroom in an open pocket, and be wary of anyone who wants to leave with you in a hurry.
- Consent: a hand moved away means no. Darkroom etiquette is the same here as anywhere.
- Chemsex: be careful with GHB/GBL and never mix it with alcohol. If someone collapses, call 112.
- PrEP and PEP: PrEP is available through the Spanish public health system. If a condom breaks, go to the urgencias (A&E) of a public hospital as soon as possible, ideally within 6 hours and no later than 72. Treatment lasts 28 days. In Málaga, the Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Victoria (the Clínico) and the Hospital Regional both have emergency departments; the Clínico's own leaflet says A&E may give the first 5 days, with the rest collected from its preventive medicine service. ASIMA in Málaga offers rapid HIV tests.
- Getting home: the Torremolinos C1 station is a few minutes' walk from La Nogalera. Recent timetables show the last train to Málaga calling at Torremolinos at around 00:40, reaching Málaga Centro-Alameda just after 01:00, which is when the cruise bars start to fill. After that it's a taxi or a ride-hailing app, so many visitors simply stay in Torremolinos.
- Apps: Grindr and similar apps are widely used here, especially in summer. Meet in a bar first.
- Cuarto oscuro: darkroom. Cabinas: cabins.
- Código de vestimenta: dress code. En ropa interior: in underwear. Desnudo: naked.
- Taquilla: locker. Entrada con consumición: entry including a drink.
- Ambiente: the scene; a bar de ambiente is a gay bar.
- Orgullo: Pride.
- Urgencias: A&E. Profilaxis postexposición (PPE): PEP.
- ¿A qué hora sale el último tren? What time is the last train?
Local colour
Torremolinos receives about 1.2 million visitors a year, more than 70% of them from abroad, and its town hall is proud of its gay history: at the 2026 Pride, Mayor Margarita del Cid called the town a faro de la diversidad, a lighthouse of diversity. In January 2025, when a private club announced a party that banned gay men using a slur, she filed a hate-crime complaint with the Policía Nacional and said the event would not happen in Torremolinos "under any circumstances". For lunch, walk west to La Carihuela, the old fishermen's quarter, for fried fish and espetos of sardines grilled on canes.

Torremolinos Pride 2026
Torremolinos Pride ran from 26 May to 6 June 2026 under the motto "Donde se siembra cultura, florece la libertad" (where culture is sown, freedom blooms). The programme included a beach volleyball tournament at Los Álamos, the flag raising in Plaza Blas Infante on 4 June, the heels race and the "proud pets" contest on Avenida Palma de Mallorca on 5 June, and free concerts by Miss Caffeina, Agoney and Alba Reche. The march on Saturday 6 June gathered at the town hall at 17:00, set off at 18:00 and ended at the Centro Cultural Pablo Ruiz Picasso, where the associations read the manifesto; 23 floats and 13 associations were expected, and local press reported thousands of people across the week. We found no confirmed dates for 2027 in November 2026: check the Torremolinos Pride page. Málaga's own Pride followed later in June.
