One of the coolest-looking restaurants I’ve ever been to. The service was spectacular; our waiter was so attentive and his energy really made the experience feel personal. The lamb chops were a standout dish, with our party saying it was “one of the best lamb chops” they had ever had. The only downside was that a lot of the dishes mentioned in online reviews were not actually on the menu when we visited, so it seems their menu has changed a good amount over time. Otherwise, would definitely recommend for a nice dinner in Palm Springs!

Terrible customer service and terrible food. We were making one of our frequent visits to Palm Springs and made a reservation for 5:00 p.m. on June 1. We are always looking for special places to dine when we stay in the desert and were eager to try this beautiful restaurant. We called the restaurant the morning we arrived and changed the time of our reservation to 6:30 p.m. The restaurant called us back that afternoon and confirmed our reservation for that time. However, when we arrived there at 6:30 p.m., the woman at the front desk had no record of our reservation and told us there was no table for us. She took us to the back of the restaurant and showed us our only option: two stools in a small cramped corner at the end of the bar. This was Restaurant Week in Palm Springs, so we decided to stay and try the special prix fixe menu the restaurant had created for the occasion. We hoped the food would compensate for the incompetent customer service. But it didn’t. The meal we had was mostly awful. My gazpacho had only two flavors: excessive lemon juice and excessive SALT. My halibut entree was well-cooked but encrusted with so much SALT and spices that the taste can only be described as corrosive. This was served with a few pieces of overcooked asparagus and a handful of greens dressed with excessive lemon juice and SALT. My partner had a beet salad that was alright. His steak entrée was properly cooked but completely covered with a brown sauce that was too SALTY. This was served with some button mushrooms and watercress. For dessert, there was a white chocolate mousse with the consistency of Crisco; and a tres leches cake that was missing all of its leches because it was shrunken and dry. Whoever is working in this workshop takes perfectly good food and then ruins it with bad dressings, coatings, and sauces. We were poorly treated and then poorly fed and we will never return to the Workshop Kitchen again.
