Leazes Park

Leazes Park, just north-west of the city centre near St James' Park, is Newcastle's longest-standing gay cruising spot, centred on the secluded, densely wooded area at the south-western edge of the park along the railings. It is long established and generally tolerated, and busiest after dark. Homosexuality is legal in the UK, but public sexual activity remains against the law in the open, so discretion and respect for other park users apply; visitors should also stay aware of their surroundings and personal safety.
