O Calgary Pride é a maior celebração LGBTQ+ de Alberta e uma das mais distintas do Canadá — em setembro, e não no bloco de junho preferido pelas grandes cidades canadenses, aproveitando o outono dourado e quente de Calgary e evitando concorrência direta com Toronto, Montreal e Vancouver. O calendário de setembro também coloca o Pride depois do Calgary Stampede (julho), dando à cidade dois grandes pontos de celebração anuais com participação LGBTQ+ significativa. O Calgary Pride atrai cerca de 60 mil participantes ao centro para um fim de semana de parada e festival que reflete o caráter da comunidade local: cidade que navega a tensão entre a política conservadora provincial e a maioria urbana progressista, comunidade que construiu infraestrutura genuína ao longo de décadas e um Pride que tira energia da relação com as Rochosas, com o Stampede e com o cosmopolitismo da era do petróleo, que fez de Calgary uma das cidades mais internacionalmente diversas do Canadá. A parada percorre o centro; a programação do festival cobre o fim de semana com performances, eventos comunitários e a concentração de bares e endereços LGBTQ+ na 17th Avenue SW e no Beltline operando em capacidade total.
