O Palm Springs Pride acontece em novembro, não em junho, porque o Coachella Valley é muito quente para eventos ao ar livre no verão e a alta temporada da cidade começa no outono. Palm Springs tem uma grande população gay e uma longa tradição de resorts masculinos de propriedade gay e "clothing-optional" (onde é permitido ficar sem roupa), então o fim de semana do Pride é tanto sobre os hotéis e festas na piscina quanto sobre o desfile. A edição de 2026 é anunciada como a 40ª.
Como funciona: os eventos ocorrem de sexta a domingo. O festival se espalha pelo Downtown Palm Springs e pelo Arenas District, a pequena faixa de bares gays na Arenas Road, com palcos, um mercado e festas de rua à noite. O desfile de domingo de manhã, com mais de 225 inscrições listadas para 2026, percorre o sul ao longo da Palm Canyon Drive, de Uptown até Amado Road, e dura cerca de duas horas. Ficar ao longo do percurso é gratuito; um passe pago "Skip the Line" é vendido para entrada no festival.
Prático: os resorts masculinos e a maioria dos hotéis esgotam meses antes, e muitos têm estadias mínimas durante o Pride. Os dias são quentes e ensolarados no início de novembro e as noites ficam frescas, então traga agasalhos. A Palm Canyon Drive fecha para o tráfego para o desfile e o estacionamento no centro na manhã de domingo é escasso, então caminhe ou pegue um transporte por aplicativo e chegue com tempo extra.
Sobre números, os organizadores dizem que a semana do Pride atrai mais de 200.000 participantes e cerca de US$ 38 milhões em gastos locais. Esse é o número deles; um guia independente estimou cerca de 60.000 espectadores do desfile, e não encontramos nenhuma contagem oficial.
A edição de 2025, com o tema "Be Heard" (Seja Ouvido), ocorreu de 6 a 9 de novembro com Sister Roma e Holly Near como grandes madrinhas. Os organizadores anunciaram as datas de 2026 como de 6 a 8 de novembro, sob o tema "Be Included" (Seja Incluído), com o desfile às 10h de domingo, 8 de novembro.
