Asterisco — Festival Internacional de Cine LGBTIQ+

Asterisco, Buenos Aires' LGBTIQ+ film festival, kicked off in June 2014 with over 130 films screening at venues like Cine Gaumont and MALBA. The national Human Rights Secretariat organised that first edition, with Albertina Carri at the helm as artistic director.
Today, Diego Trerotola directs the festival, which runs for about ten days in late October.

You'll find competitive sections, including an Argentine feature competition, alongside shorts, retrospectives, and special screenings.
For 2026, the venues are MALBA, Museo del Cine, Fundación PROA, Universidad del Cine, and Hasta Trilce.
Museo del Cine, PROA, and Universidad del Cine are free - get there early, as seats are first come, first served.
MALBA sells tickets online and at its box office, while Hasta Trilce requires you to buy tickets before the screening.

The 12th edition took place from 16 to 25 October 2025, at four venues.
The 13th edition runs from 22 October to 1 November 2026, opening with Siemprevivas from Spain and closing with Art, Chaos, Riot from France.
