Frank Sinatra Classics Get a Tribute in Voice and Piano at the National Theater
About the event
Fred Mayrink and pianist Fernando Leitzke present the show Sinatra for You on August 29 and 30, in the Sala Martins Pena.
After successful runs in Goiânia, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro, the show Sinatra for You – Voice and Piano arrives in Brasília for two performances on August 29 and 30, in the Sala Martins Pena of the National Theater. On stage, artistic director Fred Mayrink revisits Frank Sinatra's repertoire in an intimate format, accompanied only by pianist Fernando Leitzke.
Best known for his television career, where he has worked as an artistic director for TV Globo for almost three decades, Fred has directed telenovelas such as Chocolate com Pimenta, Cabocla, Alma Gêmea, Caminho das Índias, Salve Jorge, Haja Coração, and Orgulho e Paixão. His work has received two International Emmy Awards, for Caminho das Índias and O Astro, as well as a nomination for Araguaia.
Driven by a passion for music, the director transformed his admiration for Frank Sinatra into a show dedicated to the work of the American singer. The repertoire includes classics like My Way, Fly Me to the Moon, New York, New York, and Strangers in the Night, presented in versions that emphasize vocal interpretation and the atmosphere created by the dialogue between voice and piano.
With a duration of 90 minutes, Sinatra for You offers an immersion into the universe of one of the greatest interpreters of 20th-century popular music, in a show that combines acclaimed songs, stories, and the elegance that marked Sinatra's career.
