About the event

The show will have performances in Gama, Plano Piloto, and Samambaia, with the distribution of 520 free tickets for women served by CEPAVs, EJA students, and people with disabilities. Life is a recipe that we learn by doing. Amidst invented pies, unlikely friendships, and transformative encounters, the musical Amor em Pedaços returns to the stages of the Federal District for a new season of stories about courage, autonomy, and the strength of new beginnings. After the success of the first production in 2024, the play premieres with a new cast and performances between August 19 and September 11 at SESC Gama, Espaço Cultural Renato Russo, and Complexo Cultural de Samambaia. Freely inspired by the renowned Broadway musical Waitress, Amor em Pedaços presents an unprecedented adaptation, focused on the Brazilian cultural context. The plot follows Jenna, a talented baker who works in a café. Trapped in an abusive relationship and an oppressive routine, she finds in cooking and inventing new pies a form of expression and resistance. Alongside her friends Becky and Dora, the protagonist discovers that the true recipe for starting over lies in the support of those around us. “Some recipes only make sense when shared, just like affections, encounters, and life’s new beginnings.”
