A Delicate Border, by Maru Quiñonero at Alzueta Gallery

Acrylic and pencil canvases make up "A Delicate Border", Maru Quiñonero's solo exhibition at the Parisian branch of Alzueta Gallery, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Among the works gathered are "13-step Ladder To Reach The Clouds" (2026), whose subtitle — "I wish I could stay up there and escape all the noise" — expresses the desire for escape that runs through the series, and "Falling Asleep On The Sofa" (2026), which evokes surrendering to sleep as a way to remember dreams upon waking. For the artist, the relationship between color and word is synesthetic: she describes feeling colors in certain letters and words, which leads her to work with color emotionally, as her own language — a principle that runs through all this recent production, also present in canvases like "Casa" and "La ciudad", both from 2025.
