Dalí and Fashion at Palazzo Reale Milano
About the event
Shoes, dresses, jackets, gloves, and jewelry that span Salvador Dalí's work take center stage in this exhibition at Palazzo Reale Milano, curated by Montse Aguer, Laura Bartolomé Roviras, and Judith Clark, in collaboration with the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation. Bringing together more than 200 works and documents — including paintings, drawings, photographs, clothing, films, jewelry, and objects — "Dalí and Fashion" investigates the Catalan artist's relationship with the world of fashion, revealing a lesser-known, yet extraordinarily fertile, dimension of his research. A protagonist in the creation of new aesthetic codes, Dalí collaborated with stylists, photographers, and fashion houses, redefining the boundaries between art and fashion with a remarkable ability to anticipate the dynamics of this universe. The exhibition path moves between painting, sculpture, and design, from the mannequin to the body, documenting the artist's impact on the fashion imaginary and the constant tension between innovation and creative freedom that guided his entire career.
