Edward Hopper: New York and Beyond" at Palazzo Blu

More than 150 works, including paintings, watercolors, drawings, prints, and archival material, trace Edward Hopper's complete career in this exhibition at Palazzo Blu, curated by Barbara Haskell and Caroline Webb, both from the Whitney Museum of American Art. Organized into five thematic sections, the exhibition investigates how place shaped Hopper's artistic imagination: for almost sixty years, New York was his home and the city that most defined his vision, but his imagination was also deeply marked by other places that crossed his life, from the discovery of Paris to the coasts of New England and long journeys across the United States. Cities, landscapes, architecture, and human presence become stages for a visual narrative that reveals how Hopper built the unmistakable vision that continues to captivate audiences worldwide today – among the works on display are "Cape Cod Sunset" (1934), "Soir Bleu" (1914), and a self-portrait by the artist painted between 1925 and 1930, all from the Whitney's collection.
