Parada do Orgulho LGBTQIA+ de Goiânia
About This Event
Goiânia's Parada do Orgulho LGBTQIA+ is the main Pride in Goiás, a conservative farming state in central Brazil, and it has run for three decades. It's organized by the Associação da Parada do Orgulho LGBTQIA+ de Goiás, led by its founder Marcos Silvério, and it's openly political.
It starts at midday at the Praça Cívica, the city's government square, with trios elétricos and local artists; in 2025 there were six trucks and about 40 performers. In the late afternoon the march heads out along the Araguaia, Paranaíba and Tocantins avenues. Along the way there's free HIV, syphilis and hepatitis testing, and the public defender's office gives legal advice on changing name and gender markers.
The 31st edition took place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, under the theme "Nada Sobre Nós sem Nós" (nothing about us without us). Silvério used the stage to push voter turnout ahead of the national elections and to criticize more than 400 bills in Congress he considers anti-LGBTQIA+. Police and traffic planning assumed 30,000 people; we couldn't find a published count. The 2025 edition was on September 14.
It's usually a Sunday in mid-September, but the 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
