PARADA-GO

Associação da Parada do Orgulho LGBT de Goiás (PARADA-GO) is the organisation behind Goiânia's annual Pride parade, the Parada do Orgulho LGBTQIA+ de Goiânia, held each September at Praça Cívica. Growing out of activism that began in 2007 (formally registered in 2009) and founded by activist Marcos Silvério, the group works across human rights, health, citizenship and culture for the LGBTQIA+ population of Goiás. Goiânia holds a special place in Brazilian LGBTQ+ history as the site of the country's second-ever Pride march, in 1996.
