About this place ZIG

ZIG is one of São Paulo's most talked-about queer club projects, an independent, artist-led space in the Centro Histórico. Spread across several rooms on Rua Álvaro de Carvalho, it pairs a main dancefloor with a bar and a studio room, and its line-ups lean hard into electronic music, drag and live performance. Folha de S.Paulo named it the city's standout LGBTQIAP+ venue of 2024. Nights run late and the crowd skews young and mixed — here as much for the art and the DJs as for the dancing. ZIG also fronts its own annual festival. Openings cluster on weekends, so check the club's Instagram for the current programme before you go.

I wish I could give it zero stars, but it's impossible. What a horrible place!! The dance floor looks like an airless underground dungeon where everyone smokes cigarettes all the time. A nightmare!!

They charged me for something I didn't use, that's awful.

Nice place to go with friends, but extremely cramped!! That's fine! We understand that it's a historic and old place that deserves to be preserved!! But creating a smoking area at the building's entrance was the worst! Completely uncomfortable feeling! Inhaling smoke in people's faces and receiving smoke from them was very uncomfortable! Very small and with a really bad look!! They could renovate and create a smoking area! Because at the entrance of the club it's very uncomfortable!
