I'm currently staying at Almasur Express. I know the hotel well, and every time I travel to Punta Arenas, I stay there because I find it comfortable and the location is excellent. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. However, the hotel's reception service is a separate issue—both times. I made the reservation through Despegar from Rio Gallegos, and upon arrival, I was told my reservation wasn't in the system. I had to search for the physical reservation I had, which they checked in several systems, and they finally told me I had a room. After staying two nights and doing some sightseeing in the city, I returned to the hotel and found my key card wasn't working. I went to reception, explained the situation, and they asked for my room number and reactivated it. They seem to be unfamiliar with certain words, like "excuse me" or "good evening." They treat me, at least, with a very unfriendly demeanor. Both times I had the same impression, once upon arrival and again with the key card. The service at reception is inadequate. Regards, Alejandro. Hosted from June 6 to 8, 2026.

The beds were terrible; they felt smaller than a single bed, and the mattress was completely worn out, with worn-out springs. As for the bathroom, it was a nuisance that the soap dispensers couldn't be removed to take them to the shower; you had to keep opening the shower. Also, the door lock to the room was faulty.

We went to this hotel when it was called Rey Don Felipe. A few years ago they changed the name and added the Express option. What didn't change was the parking area. They need to do something about that. They should somehow guarantee parking. Otherwise, the hotel is fine.

Excellent value for money. The filtered water and coffee/tea dispensers on the second floor are a welcome addition.
