Gay Bars & Clubs in Quito
Quito's LGBTQ+ nightlife is modest but genuine, and it is overwhelmingly concentrated in La Mariscal (the "Zona Rosa") north of the historic centre. The venues below are the city's established gay bars and clubs; most come alive Thursday to Saturday and many run until 3–4 AM.
Quito's Gay Venues
RADAR is the flagship of the scene — a long-running gay dance club in La Mariscal with a big weekend crowd, DJs spinning pop, reggaeton and electronic sets, and regular drag performances. If you only have one night out in Quito, this is the safest bet for a full club experience.
La Disco Bitch lives up to its name: high-energy, unapologetic and fun, with pulsing pop and reggaeton and a crowd that dances late. It is one of the most reliably lively spots for the more flamboyant side of Quito's queer nightlife.
Danzatoria (Kika), in the Iñaquito area to the north, is a dedicated gay club with a strong local following and a proper dance floor.
Pose by Ph is a gay disco (found on social media as @discogayquito) that programmes themed parties and DJ nights for a young, mixed queer crowd.
TOUCH UIO and Sagrada by Secret round out the bar side of the scene — smaller, more intimate rooms good for drinks and conversation before moving on to the clubs.
Mimi Bar (Fluido) is listed by Orgullo Quito among the city's LGBTQ+ venues and leans toward a drag-and-show atmosphere on event nights.
Tercer Milenio Evolution, known to locals as "El Hueco," is a historic gay club in the Centro Histórico and one of the oldest names in Quito's gay nightlife.
Black White is a gay karaoke bar in La Mariscal for a more relaxed, sing-along evening.
When to Go & What to Expect
Weekends (Friday and Saturday) are busiest. Cover charges are modest (around 3–8 USD) and usually include a drink. Expect Latin pop, reggaeton and international dance hits. The crowd mixes locals and travellers and is generally warm and welcoming.
Practical Tips
Getting there: La Mariscal is walkable, but for late nights use Uber or Cabify rather than hailing a cab on the street. Safety: the main nightlife blocks are generally safe, but keep valuables secure, avoid empty streets late at night, and be aware that street crime has risen in Ecuador in recent years. Altitude: Quito sits at 2,850 m (9,350 ft), so pace your drinking — alcohol hits harder at altitude.
