Quito Pride marches through the historic centre of Ecuador's capital — a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the best-preserved colonial Old Town in the Americas — each June in a celebration that has been growing steadily since the early 2000s. Ecuador's LGBTQ+ rights are constitutionally protected but full equality remains a work in progress, and the pride march is an important public statement of visibility and determination in this Andean capital.
