A decent place, but nowhere near international standards. The Horus sauna in Montevideo is a pretty average place, welcoming to the local crowd, as long as you don't go with high expectations. It has the basics to pass the time and the people are cool, but the complex itself is kind of small, rather modest, and the interior could use a good facelift. Now, if you've ever been to one of Thailand's iconic gay saunas, like the legendary Babylon in Bangkok or Sansook in Pattaya, Horus will fall far short. The difference in quality is abysmal. In Thailand, those places are like five-star resorts: they have giant outdoor pools, amazing tropical gardens, impeccable cleanliness, and are full of plants and flowers everywhere. You feel like you're in a super posh spa where the staff is constantly checking that everything is spotless. At Horus, everything is much simpler, cramped, and budget-friendly. And the craziest thing is that here in Uruguay the prices are higher, even though the level of service and the aesthetics don't even come close to what they offer in Asia. It's okay for checking things out for a night, but honestly, compared to Thai resorts, Horus is way behind.
Hello, do you have a website where I can inquire about prices, payment methods, and opening hours? Thank you!
Good meeting place, hygiene and furnishings could be improved.
I've been many times, but it gets worse every time. They're removing the showers; there's no good ventilation in the locker room. I went this year (2026), and it's worse. NOTHING WORKS: THE STEAMROOM, THE SAUNA, THE SHAWERS ARE BROKEN. A DISASTER.
I was there on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 5 PM to 9 PM. There were about 30 men, 25% up to about 35 years old, about 25% 35-45, and the rest over 45. The best time was from 6 PM to 8 PM. It had a steam room, a dry sauna, and two levels with cabins. The cost was 500 pesos, cash only. The seating was old and worn. The sauna was okay, not particularly nice or great, but it served its purpose. On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 8 PM, there were about 10 men. All of them were old or very heavyset... The seating was awful.
