PETAL (Promoting Empowerment Through Awareness for Les/Bi Women)

PETAL — Promoting Empowerment Through Awareness for Les/Bi Women — is a Belize City-based organisation founded around 2011 that focuses on lesbian, bisexual and queer women in Belize. It works on visibility, peer support and tackling gender-based violence, filling a gap that broader advocacy groups do not always cover. PETAL organises awareness activities and community gatherings and is one of the few dedicated spaces for LBQ women in the country. Contact is primarily through its social-media channels.
