Terrible Service. Website pricing (Expedia, booking.com) is different than the price they want you to pay when you get there, they want a suspicious e transfer or cash payment when you arrive, which was double what was told on Expedia. Not sure if there was any cancellation charge yet.
I am absolutely furious with this hotel. Back in November, I booked a room with FOUR beds for SIX people through Hotels.com for July 2nd. The total cost was $372, and the reservation was confirmed. Then, in early June, the hotel contacted me through Hotels.com and demanded that I send them an additional $509 through WHATSAPP. Yes, WhatsApp! Not through Hotels.com, not through a secure payment system, but through WhatsApp. Huge red flag. I refused to send them another $509, so they canceled my reservation. When I reported the situation to Hotels.com, they contacted the hotel. The hotel's response? They claimed that I canceled the reservation myself and that the room was only meant for two people. Excuse me? A room with FOUR beds is only for TWO people? Give me a break. It feels like a bait-and-switch. They advertised and accepted a reservation at one price, then tried to squeeze hundreds more dollars out of me after the fact. When I refused, they canceled my booking and then blamed me. As a result, I had to scramble to find another hotel at the last minute, which cost me over $300 MORE than my original reservation. I strongly recommend that travelers think twice before booking this property. My experience was dishonest, stressful, and incredibly frustrating. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Stay away.
I'd recommend a stay there. It would be a unique experience. It has a beautiful view and pleasant service. During my stay, I met other wonderful guests.
This hotel left us high and dry!! We had a room booked with Royal Boutique through Expedia 6 months in advance for an upcoming cruise. Two weeks before check in they "became under new management" and wanted payment done at the hotel only and not through 3rd party. We had prepaid already except for the on site fees they wanted. We tried to contact and just pay for that in advance and got no response. I called and got through only to be told they are canceling our reservation along with others that have booked and we would have to re-book. The issue is that now the same room is 4x the price. I'm assuming this was all done to capitalize on the upcoming Fifa World Cup game that occurs that very weekend. Now, I've booked another hotel for $100USD more because of this greed. Stay away from this establishment.
