About this place Marie Curtis Park

Marie Curtis Park, on the Lake Ontario shoreline at the Toronto–Mississauga border where Etobicoke Creek meets the lake, has long been known among locals as a lakeside cruising spot, with activity concentrated in the wooded and trail areas away from the main beach and playground. The park drew national attention in 2016 during 'Project Marie', a controversial police operation that was widely criticised by LGBTQ advocates. Same-sex activity is legal throughout Canada, and this is a public park open during posted hours. Discretion is expected: keep to quieter wooded edges rather than family beach areas, respect consent and privacy, follow all park signage and closing times, and take normal precautions when visiting after dark.
