The food was quite ordinary and was too salty. I don't understand why Ritz Carlton opened such an unauthentic Italian restaurant. It was a business lunch and I was treated by the business partner. The partner was astonished that the machine was suggesting a base tip of 25%. In the end he just shrugged, "well the company is going to pay for it anyway".

Grace, our server, was superb. Ask for her! The food was a dream, the wine spot on, and the atmosphere a delight. Order the mahi mahi and the black sesame panna cotta. Wonderful! Everything everyone has at our table was excellent. Gluten free options available, including bread at the beginning, which was very nice.

It was an important occasion for our family and so we wanted to celebrate in the appropriate environs and selected TOCA because it was close to where we were earlier that morning. There are three elements that make a restaurant stand out. The venue, the food and the service. The Ritz Carlton is a fancy place and the mezzanine space this restaurant occupies is not bad in terms of design but it feels a bit cramped and dark. The food was ok. Nothing to write home about. I ordered a sea food pasta and I know it was heated in a microwave or put in some type of heating device because the pasta and the seafood was piping hot. Uncomfortable if you ask me. The sauce was a bit tad on the salty side. The rest of the table ordered the Bolognese and my mother the chicken. All said it was ok but nothing stellar. What was stellar and hence this missive, was the service provided us by Brianna who knew it was a special occasion, organized a cake for us with congratulations written on it. She was engaging, attentive without being contrived and I applaud her for her professionalism. The devil is in the details and in this instance the detail that stood out most from my visit was the service. Brianna, and I hope I am getting her name right, was stellar. She made the entire visit worthwhile. To the management I say this....keep this one close because the likes of her are few and far between in these parts.
