I went to the Apollo Sauna in Santo Domingo with high hopes of sitting in the hot tub Jacuzzi to relax and chill out after a wonderful day in the “Colonial” part of Santo Domingo. Then, the owner saw me trying to enter the facility and told me it was closed while I was trying to open the door. Regardless, I walked in and then he would not let me enter the sauna because I’m handicapped. I am walking impaired and I use canes to walk. All I can say, it’s a horrible sensation when being discriminated against based on age, race, nationality, sexual orientation, physical disability, etc… as many can attest to. It kills me that I made the effort to visit a queer gay owned business in a foreign country and was rejected from the door. 🚪 for being walking 🚶‍♂️ impaired. Here’s a recap of the situation: When I asked the owner why he would not let me enter the first time he said the sauna was closed. Then, I asked the owner again why he would not let me enter the Sauna after he allowed three other people/patrons to enter, he asserted that it was not safe for me to enter the sauna because of the web floors and the soap on the floors. …BLATANT DISCRIMINATION… I experienced something similar when I visited a sauna in Singapore 🇸🇬 I would give them zero stars; however, you’re not able to do that and post a review…

I would like more information if possible, and if it is still providing service.

It's good to see the place has improved and things have been fixed up. The action is hot I went on Sunday afternoon and had a great time lots of interesting types there.

10/10 would recommend! Extremely clean! The drinks are a bit weak but I enjoyed myself. I had a conversation with the owner he is super nice and speaks English.

Alberto is a great guy and puts a lot of effort into the place. The atmosphere is perfect; it feels safe and comfortable. It's become a must-visit for the community, and it's a place where you feel lucky to meet nice people and have a good time. I would definitely go back.

Not bad… but: The showers are cold… It's really very dark. The cubicles are tiny and only have one chair! No room to lie down. And above all, no condoms! No lube! And no disinfectant… a bit questionable from a preventative and hygienic point of view.

I really liked the place. I went on a Monday around 6 pm and it wasn't very crowded, but the people who were there were definitely looking for action and they were all hot guys. The place is big and clean, and the staff is friendly.

They have taken an excellent approach to improving service and customer care.
