About this place Playa Delfines

Playa Delfines, also called El Mirador, is a long public beach near the southern end of Cancún's Hotel Zone, with the CANCÚN letters at its viewpoint and no resort in front. Gay travel guides, including Nomadic Boys (2025) and The Gay Passport (2026), describe it as the beach most popular with gay locals and visitors. It is a mixed, family beach and it isn't naturist. The open-sea waves are strong, so watch the flags: swimming was restricted in October 2026 because of rip currents, and sargassum hits this stretch hard in late spring and summer. Public sex is an offence in Mexico and police patrol the Hotel Zone beaches. Facilities are basic, so bring water and shade.
