Astro Pasadena Hotel

The rooms look way nicer on the inside than the motel looks from the outside. The 2 queen beds room was fine - enough space, no complaints. The king suite (apparently now listed as the 'romantic jacuzzi suite') is huge and very nice. My two issues were that the stairs were slick metal, which made me nervous in the rain, and the parking lot was cramped, although I was always able to find a spot.

This Hotel was actually pretty cool, I loved the red aesthetics and designs. The T.V. worked, shower was nice and hot, clean room, sheets were clean, the carpet was a bit dirty but not too bad. Check in/check out was nice, quick and easy. I received my cash deposit back after they checked the room. Location of this place was cool. Make sure you check out on time because they will call you and remind you that check out is at 11am. Their vending machine was empty when purchasing a drink. Otherwise, I will be returning when I visit again.

The showers have those large dispensers and they have no soap, shampoo, or conditioner. The pillows are hard as a rock and the walls are paper thin. The area around is not very walkable and public transit access is a hike or a long wait.

Great room, great price, great host!

Stayed 2 nights. It was pretty clean and no bugs. Would have been a 5 if they did better vacuuming and dusting. And if there wasn’t a hole in the carpet the size of my hand. Has odd decor kind of like a garage. But they clearly spent a lot on upgrading about ten years ago. Quartz counters and large shower. Felt pretty safe coming back at night. No homeless around.

They don't have a website, but when I phoned them, Tania answered, took my reservation, and noted my room request (top floor). She was very friendly, and the price was as good or better than all online sources that I could find. The friendliness continued throughout our stay last month, from check-in with Sam, to occasional chance encounters in the parking lot. Very, very friendly people here! Our room was clearly remodeled in the last few years, and was super nice for a budget motel. I did find the mattress too soft for my liking, but it was fine for my husband. The little fridge was quiet, unlike the heater, which seems to be standard in so many motel rooms (solution: just warm up the room a bit before going to sleep, and shut the heater off). The shower was very nice, with a fancy dual showerhead with high water pressure, and there was always hot water. There's a powerful hair dryer, an ironing board, and iron. The only things I can think of that would have increased the "perfect" factor for me (besides noise proofing the room from road noise, which is probably impossible): I wish there were 2 chairs for the small table (for eating breakfast at), and a "real" towel bar or two. (The metal hanger unit near the bathroom sink doubles as a towel bar, but one in the actual bathroom would also be nice.)

Stayed here for a week for an event nearby. I do not agree with a lot of the reviews stating the rooms are clean. When we got there, multiple pillows had hairs on them. The carpet didn't seem like it was vacuumed. Worst of all, the door to go to the washroom was absolutely filthy. We took a wet towel to the door (including the glass part of it), and the towel was just covered in dirt and grime. We were staying with other people (they had a separate room), and the state of their bathroom door was the exact same. The front desk never seemed to have anyone actually sitting there, waiting to help guests, but they were usually quick to come out of the back room to assist. There was one point during our stay where we needed something at 6AM and we unable to get ahold of anyone, the door was locked and they did not answer calls. Overall, I would not stay here again, mostly due to the state of the rooms.
