Days Inn by Wyndham Ames

This is the best Days Inn I've been too so far. Rooms are clean,staff is friendly. Manager is very professional.

Staff was fine. Hallway smelled like cigarette smoke. The kiosk check in worked fine but was very weird. Not having a front desk staff is annoying when you're looking for something simple like a fork or spoon. Will not stay at another Days Inn

I had a little trouble hearing because of background noise while at the kiosk, but other than that it was a fun experience. Pat was very pleasant.

There are many better options to choose from in the area than this place. Exterior very worn with weeds growing around the perimeter. The location is next to busy Duff Street and the whole place has the look of a low rent flop house. My wife and I were traveling and just needed a place to sleep. When we drove into the parking lot, we immediately knew we would have to stay somewhere else. The place looked really beat down. To make matters worse, we ended up paying for the night anyway because we were beyond the "24 hour " window to cancel. Given that we stayed at a way nicer place in Ames, it was worth it.

Had 2 issues that were addressed immediately and couldn’t be more impressed with the customer service. Only complaint is the parking is not wide enough but I’m Definitely staying here my next visit to Ames.

Great location and price, as other options are pricey in the season. They need more cleanliness to get five stars. You need to provide a bottle of water, at least. Unfortunately, there is management, so I’m not smiling, so it seems like they are not happy worker here, though the owner is working during the day. So they overcharged me as a deposit, which is an unusual figure for life, one $26.66, and I went to the front desk and asked the guy who was claiming it, and he didn’t answer satisfactorily. Customer Service is the main thing for any business, and I hope they will learn the lesson very quickly.

No staff on site. Abandoned buildings surround hotel. Bare minimum necessities- no Kleenex or lotion. Only $100/night so get what you pay for

This hotel overall is very unprofessional and miss leading. I made a reservation online a few months ago and it clearly states on their website that they allow service animals. When I drove in from Chicago IL to Ames IA for my reservation/trip to visit some close college friends, I was denied entry to my room and refused a refund because I had my ESA (cat) with me. I travel with my ESA (cat) because I have a severe dx of major depressive d/o and anxiety and my ESA (cat) is trained/certified to comfort me when I’m having panic attacks. Mind you I also had all the documentation with me that day to prove my cat was ESA certified and the hotel took in no consideration what so ever and stated that ESA is not considered a real service animal. This caused me great distress/anxiety and thankfully I found another hotel in the middle of the night that could accommodate my ESA which I was highly grateful for, but to not be entitled to a refund in this scenario is bad business! I would not recommend Days Inn to anyone especially if you have a “service animal” because they may deny you at the door just like me. Hopefully this review will be helpful to others who have support animals and need hotels to stay in for holidays/trips. Just know that Days Inn will not accommodate you or give you a refund!
