The perfect spot for a romantic getaway. I can't wait to take my wife back.
The location is excellent; however, the cleanliness of the rooms leaves much to be desired. There was a lot of dust on the furniture, and the rooms are not well insulated between floors, so noise carries easily. The breakfast is very basic, and having some fresh fruit options would be appreciated. The staff are polite and friendly. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
This lovely boutique hotel is located next to the Hilton Tower. During my stay in Anchorage, I had the opportunity to experience both properties, and the smaller hotel was clearly the better choice. The hotel is spotless and has a wonderful sense of history and authenticity. The furnishings are tastefully selected, and the chrome and copper metal handles shine beautifully. The colors of the chest of drawers, curtains, desk, table lamps, and mirrors all contribute to a warm and inviting atmosphere. The carpet is immaculate, and the bed is very comfortable. Modern safety features, including sprinkler systems, have been added. To accommodate today's electrical needs, numerous extension cords have been installed to support the various appliances and devices used by guests. The hot breakfast is hearty and generously served, with items replenished promptly. The most beautiful part of the property is the breakfast area, which has the charm and character to become an exceptional gemutlich-style bar or restaurant. The service is attentive, friendly, and efficient, making the overall experience especially pleasant.
Our stay at this hotel was amazing. We arrived early and Kellen at the front desk accommodated us with a cozy, spacious room for our family of 4. He went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The hotel is within walking distance to gift shops, restaurants and only a 5 minute walk to the Alaskan Train depot. The weather was amazing too. We walked to Captain Cooks monument and had a perfect view of Denali!! Anchorage was a great area to start our Alaskan vacation!!
Cool and historic, quaint, quiet.
