About this place Out Youth

Out Youth is Austin's long-running nonprofit for LGBTQ+ teens and young adults, founded in 1990. It runs a drop-in space in north-central Austin, peer support groups, counselling and mental-health referrals, and youth leadership programmes, plus outreach and training for schools and families across Central Texas. The centre at 909 E 49 1/2 St opens weekday afternoons, roughly 3pm to 8pm, which lines up with after-school hours. It is a youth service, not a social venue for adult visitors; adults who want to support it can look at volunteering or donating through outyouth.org.
