I was so excited it had been a number of years, they had no availability the day I showed up, I bought 2 t-shirts and made an appointment, I was so excited! They canceled the appointment and rescheduled, all was good! I call on the day to confirm and no one answered for 3hrs. I showed up and my enthusiasm was high and quickly extinguished! I get told the hot water is not flowing, that the pipes have so much calcification it stopped flowing and that they have a hot tub of the same water (cold) they are now boiling it🥺! I was so disappointed I can't even tell you! But I'd given a deposit and I had an herb wrap and massage scheduled. The water was hot and the experience really bad and lacked alot of temp contrast and basic heat intensity! The wrap what a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT 😞! I expected some herbs NONE!!! I watched the woman lay (and explained) down 4 towels (old thin probably thrifted) and there was no herbs or fragrance of said herbs. I asked where are the herbs, and she said, "oh there are really strong so we put them on the sides of the towel container" So she wraps me up and gives me cold compress the sparks an??? oil ??mist?? Of the smell of herbs (it burned 🔥 bad its somewhat bothersome 3hrs later) when I got un wrapped in scrubbed my face with a dry towel and there was almost NO scent of herbs and probably only due to the face mist (burn distracting) the attendant asked how I was I said DISAPPOINTED she apologized and eventually picked up the thrifted towels. ( I expected real herbs in the past they had herbs green and some purple ie lavender! and packed herbs on cotton and laid it on me and then more towels and not the spray in the face oil.) While she wrapped me she also tells me the hot water has been down since Dec or Jan and Im asked why no one said anything at scheduling???!!! She once again apologized and then justified by saying " the historical elements of the facility are taking a long time for approval??? City state she didn't say. But the message person said 1 or 2months ERROR!! The massage was pretty good seemed to lack oil or lotion. I think they are running without alot of necessities to function properly! I was done and the attendant asked again how I was feeling, I said " really angry, disappointed and I want to return the t-shirts I bought but I'd left them where im staying. I paid them as not to fight or make the problem the employees 🙄 😒! I want and will attempt to get my money back from my CC company because not only was it a disappointment from what it used to be, it was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! 5/22/26

I had such a relaxing evening at the Jemez Springs Bath House, soaking in a hot mineral bath fed by a natural spring, followed by a salt foot scrub. It was such a rustic, down-to-earth experience, and I absolutely loved it.

For over 20 years Jemez springs bathhouse has been one of my most favorite places to go to relax and detox in the hot springs mineral water leaving my whole body feeling rejuvenated. However, my cousin and i visited the bathhouse on March 21, 2026. We were told that they were experiencing a decrease in waterflow coming from the hot springs because of clogged pipes but assured us that the water was still warm enough for our soaks and herbal wraps. The water was not even luke warm for the soak and the wraps were cold. I did not experience the benefits from the hot springs that i had in past years. It was an unpleasant experience. To top everything off, when i went to pay my bill the bathhouse attendant continued to schedule appointments and not being honest about the temperature of the water. I’m sorry to say i probably won’t return to what used to be one of my favorite places to go. The bathhouse has been going down hill for a few years now.
