About this place Jackhammer

Jackhammer in Rogers Park is a gay bar on Chicago's North Side that’s comfortable for leather and bear communities but still keeps the door open to everyone.

It pulls in a real mix of people. There's a relaxed, neighborhood feel here that values community, not attitude. If you're new to Chicago's North Side gay scene, or a regular just looking for a low-key spot, this place feels friendly and unpretentious.

You'll find entertainment and dancing, especially on weekends, with live performances thrown in on some nights. Drink specials every night make it an easy place to hang out, and there’s always something happening most nights of the week. The decor, with its Levi's vibe, signals its connection to leather culture without making anyone else feel out of place.

Chicago’s LGBTQ+ nightlife stretches across different neighborhoods, each with its own crowd. Jackhammer is the North Side's answer, a good alternative to the denser scenes downtown or in other parts of the city. It's a solid choice if you're exploring Chicago and want a real neighborhood bar.

Beautiful gay bar with outdoor seating and an upstairs and a downstairs. All restrooms are gender neutral. Delicious house shots. I had a green tea shot. Yum!

Y’all gotta do better at trans-inclusivity. If it’s a cis gay male event, save us some time and put that on the flyer. We’re all people, express your emotions, but do the bare minimum and be respectful. Trans people, be careful.

finally went here for a theme night last month; what a great space for the community! something for everyone in every sense, bartenders are sweet and pour good fairly priced drinks, space is very clean but not sterile. im always treated very warmly here as a trans person so don’t worry about looking like a stereotypical circuit queen. thanks for helping keep rogers park weird!

Came for karaoke night, was not disappointed. The DJ was amazing, all the staff and patrons are so welcoming. One of my favorite gay bars I have ever visited.
