About this place Jackhammer

Jackhammer is a gay bar on North Clark Street in Rogers Park, at the far north end of Chicago's gay bar map. It has a Levi's-and-leather feel and draws a lot of bears and leather men, but the door is open to everyone and it works as a neighbourhood bar too. Weekends bring dancing and go-go dancers, and there are drink specials and themed or entertainment nights through the week. It opens Wednesday to Sunday, from 19:00 (15:00 on Sunday) until 04:00, or 05:00 on Friday and Saturday, so it's one of the late options on the North Side. It's a long way from Boystown: take the Red Line to Loyola or Morse, or a cab.

Beautiful gay bar with outdoor seating and an upstairs and a downstairs. All restrooms are gender neutral. Delicious house shots. I had a green tea shot. Yum!

Y’all gotta do better at trans-inclusivity. If it’s a cis gay male event, save us some time and put that on the flyer. We’re all people, express your emotions, but do the bare minimum and be respectful. Trans people, be careful.

finally went here for a theme night last month; what a great space for the community! something for everyone in every sense, bartenders are sweet and pour good fairly priced drinks, space is very clean but not sterile. im always treated very warmly here as a trans person so don’t worry about looking like a stereotypical circuit queen. thanks for helping keep rogers park weird!
