About this place Touche

Touche is one of Chicago's established leather bars, found on North Clark Street, just north of Andersonville.

This place is for the leather and fetish community, but it’s still easy for anyone to walk in. If you’re into leather, great. If you’re just looking for a strong, specific gay bar, this is one to try.

They do themed nights, like "Dungeon Master," plus all-day Sunday beer busts. There’s a back room if you want something more private. It’s got a cruisy vibe and a loyal crowd, a real institution in the North Side gay scene.

Chicago’s queer nightlife is spread out. You'll find spots downtown, but the North Side has places like Touche, that have been around for a while. It’s at 6412 N Clark St at W. Devon Ave. Check their website for event details, drink specials, and hours before you head out.

We had nothing like this on the South Side. So I am making up the time and enjoying myself to the fullest when I get the chance to stop by. This place is Heaven on Earth for people like me who like to experiment with new looks and smells.

I walked in, paid the check for my bag and was immediately told by the bartender he wouldn't serve me. I've been there a couple of times and always been nice to the bartender even though he can't get an order right. Honestly I think it's a race thing.

Touche is a local gay bar that harkens back to a time before hookup apps and cellphones changed how men meet and socialize. Most of the staff is friendly. The drink prices are reasonable. All are welcome, although the majority of the customers are LGBTQ men looking to relax and have a good time after work or on the weekends. David, the manager, keeps everything running as it has for almost half a century. The calendar is sprinkled with events throughout the week from movies to leather club nights to play parties to contests to fundraisers to .... Touche has one of the rare 4 am licenses (5 am on Sunday morning) so it is a great place to end the night after other bars or events have closed. There is nothing modern or trendy or pretentious about Touche, which is exactly what makes it a great place to hang out with old friends or meet new ones. Touche is just itself, so you can be yourself there as well.
