What reviewers say

Visitors praise the hotel's convenient location on Navy Pier and the nice lake views. However, a significant and recurring complaint is the frequent and prolonged out-of-order status of the elevators, forcing guests to use the stairs with luggage, which is particularly problematic for elderly guests or those with mobility issues. Some guests also noted issues with room cleanliness and the perceived lack of luxury for the price.

We stayed here for my daughter’s volleyball tournament, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating. The elevators were completely out of order, forcing us to climb five flights of stairs after a long, exhausting day of games. My 12-year-old was too tired to even figure out the correct path back to the lobby. For a hotel of this scale, the lack of a disaster or contingency plan was a major issue. Given the hotel's proximity to the water and the inherent risk of flooding, management should have a functional "Plan B." For instance, they could have zoned the remaining operational elevators to run some from the ground floor and others starting from the 3rd floor. Furthermore, the navigation guidance was highly inadequate. Instead of just taping pieces of paper to the walls, the hotel desperately needs proper, clear signage directing guests to the lobby, Bay 1, and Bay 2. I expected much better organization from a property like this.

This hotel is well maintained, the location is perfect for visiting navy pier. The onsite restaurant is convenient and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

The views of the lake are nice, but this is not anything resembling a luxury hotel. The staff was consistently surly and unhelpful, and the design shows very little consideration for the guest experience. When we visited, all elevators were completely out of service. We had to hike--bags and all--up six flights of stairs to our room, without any assistance or even an apology for the inconvenience. I get that unforseen things can happen, but there was zero effort at making this experience any less miserable for us. A nice place would have done better. I would look elsewhere if I were you.

This hotel is horrible. Elevator doesn’t work. You have to go to the stairs. Everything is wet and there’s no indication of how to use it. You get lost on the halls you go through different the service area to get to the rooms there’s no people helping and there’s angry people on the front desk not to the standard of the Hilton so don’t fall for the location. It’s not worth it.

I came to help my elderly uncle check in for the night. After paying in full, we were only then informed, only after the transaction was complete, that the elevator was broken. No prior warning. No email. The hotel was already aware of this before we arrived and made no attempt to notify us ahead of time. My uncle's entire group are elderly individuals who physically cannot carry luggage up 7 flights of stairs. We had no choice but to scramble for a new hotel at 10 PM. When we approached the front desk to discuss a refund, the valet parking attendant outside warned us that our car would be ticketed if we did not move it immediately. Withholding known information that directly affects a guest's ability to stay, and then having staff pressure guests who are trying to resolve the situation, reflects poorly on how this hotel treats its customers. For a hotel charging over $500 a night, this level of service is simply not acceptable. I would not return.
